After dinner was dessert. I was stuffed like a pig by the time I finished the chocolate mouse. It was so worth it though!

I'd found Lucy deep in conversation with another girl all the way on the other side of the room. They were both laughing, and it seemed I wasn't the only one who'd found someone else to talk to.

"Bloom, because you're a healer, does that mean you can't turn into a wolf?" I asked her. I'd thought of it in the middle of dinner, but I didn't really want to ask her because the last time I'd asked her something she got upset.

"No," she laughed. "So sorry, but I won't be able to come running around in the forest with you."

"I don't even know if I'm a wolf to be perfectly honest though, so you don't have to worry very much," I replied.

"Wait, what do you mean?"

"Well, I haven't actually become a wolf yet."

She dropped her fork, staring at me with shock. I blushed a bright red when heads turned to witness the commotion.

"Seriously!?" she exclaimed.

"Shhh!" I shushed her. Some heads turned away, but most remained. "You're drawing way too much attention."

"Sorry," she chuckled, picking up her fork again. "You mean you haven't actually shifted yet?"

"No," I replied. "Well, it's kind of weird. A few times it's like I've had this thing that's been wanting to break free. It's like there's something inside me, you know?" I cringed after I'd finished. "That probably doesn't make any sense. Sorry."

"No it does actually. I've heard about a wolfs first shift. It's complicated stuff. But you always get through it."

"Really? Tell me about it!" I squeaked, my voice catching when it got too high.

She grinned and began explaining. "It's like you said. When an emotion is heightened you feel the clawing feeling at your chest. That's your wolf trying to break free. Not literally though," she laughed, rolling her eyes. "Eventually when it becomes more frequent or you go through something that's emotionally intense you go through your first shifting. Generally it just happens when it becomes more frequent though. The whole process happens around the age of 12 and then you actually go through the changing around that year or a few years later. So that's why I'm surprised it hasn't happened to you. Because it's been a lot longer than just a few years."

"Why hasn't it happened to me?" I asked with a frown.

"I'm not sure. I'll have to look into that," she said, beginning to enter deep thought.

"Aiden, do you know why I wouldn't have gone through shifting yet?" I asked him.

"Already started learning have you?" he chuckled. "But to answer your question, no I don't I'm afraid. But I think Bloom will look into it. I mean, give her a problem regarding that kinda stuff and she always finds a solution."

"She already looks deep in thought," I laughed. Aiden turned towards me and glanced at Bloom, grinning when he saw her thoughtful expression.

When dinner was finished, I'd gone over to see Lucy before we left the dining room.

"Sang where've you been!" she laughed. "You literally disappeared as soon as we walked in the door."

"Aiden," I replied, rolling my eyes and laughing.

She broke out into a grin. "Men," was her response. "Sang, I want you to meet Alice." She gestured to the tall girl beside her. She was thin, with long legs and olive brown skin. She had long blonde hair and hazel brown eyes. "Alice, this is the Sang I was telling you all about before," she introduced me.

"Hi Sang," she said with a warm smile.

"Hello Alice," I replied.

"Alice is a wolf too. She turned a few years ago but she's about the same age as us," Lucy explained.

My eyes lit up. "Did it hurt?" I asked with wide hopeful eyes.

She let out a laugh that was sweet, like music. "Only a little bit. But it's so quick you barely even feel it."

My eyes dropped a little.

"But you'll be fine. Don't worry about it. Have you started the process yet?" she asked me.

"Wait what's the process and this shifting thing?" Lucy interrupted quickly.

Alice and Bloom laughed at her outburst.

"Maybe we should go and sit somewhere and introduce you guys to all you've been missing out on?" Alice suggested, glancing at Bloom.

"Sounds good to me," Bloom replied. Lucy and I nodded, and together we set off.

"Oh wait," Bloom said, pointing behind us. We all looked to where she was pointing, and I met eyes with Aiden. He walked over to us, his hands in his pockets.

"Hey Alice, hey Lucy," he greeted. "You coming?" he asked me, holding out his hand. I hesitated because I wanted to go and snuggle up with him, but I really wanted to hear about what's it like to be and live like a wolf.

"No," I replied, and Aiden dropped his hand with a shocked expression on his face. Chuckling and giggling started behind me.

"Why not!"

"Because we're going to go and learn about all we've been missing out on."

"You literally have forever to do that," he replied.

"But I want to go now," I said, a determined expression crossing my face.

He crossed his arms over his chest, and exaggerated a puppy dog face.

I rolled my eyes. "Just because you are apart of the animal kingdom does not mean you can morph an expression of a puppy," I laughed. His moth popped open and Alice began cackling behind me.

"Sang," he wined. I reached out and have him a kiss on the lips.

"I'll see you soon. I'm not leaving the house, don't worry. You know how much I want to learn about this stuff. And... these girls are the first real group of friends I've had in a long, long time. I want to get to know them."

I heard him sigh in my mind. "Okay. Will you come back to our room after?"

"Sure."

He leaned over and gave me a kiss. "See you soon," he whispered, and walked away. His hands returned to his pockets when he rounded the corner and disappeared towards our bedroom.

"Wow," Alice breathed, her hand clutching her side when I faced her again.

"What?" I asked, blushing pink on the cheeks a little.

"I've never actually seen a girl stand up to their mate before."

"What do you mean?" I asked, confusion filling my face.

"The guys are so protective," Bloom stated rolling her eyes in the process. "And the girls get so annoyed with it sometimes to they just go along with it because most of the time they can't be bothered arguing."

I laughed. "Seriously? If I had to go along with everything he said, may as well become a dog and make him the owner," I joked.

All three of them broke into laughter. "That's a good one," Bloom laughed.

"Let's go," Alice finally said when we all stopped laughing.

"To where?" Lucy lasted inquisitively.

"Where all learning is done," she replied. I caught eyes with Lucy when Bloom finished Alice's sentence.

"The library."

I've honestly written so much these past few days. I'm travelling on the train a lot, so I'm pretty productive.
