Aiden's POV (Continued)

It wasn't until a couple of minutes later I heard her scream my name.

"Aiden! Aiden listen! Please please help me Aiden."

Her begging made my wolf whimper.

I felt a newfound burst of energy, as my bond locked in on where she could be and what she was feeling. I tried to respond, but her fear was so intense she didn't hear my response.

Her fear was so intense that I could vividly see the images she was observing in her mind, and gave me a newfound sense of hope which I used to fuel my determination of finding her.

"Pa!" I yelled. He came rushing in.

I breathed out all the details I could of what she was seeing, based on the immense fear she had of her surroundings, and he rushed off to immobilise his troops and begin finding leads.

Mother rushed in shortly after he left.

"She's going to be alright, love. We'll find her I promise."

An excruciating pain started in my chest, and being unprepared for it, I fell onto the flood and howled. I felt her pain, her anguish, and most of all the claw mark now heavily present on my chest.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I fought the pain she was feeling. I saw tears well up in mothers eyes as well, knowing this is something she thought she'd never have to experience. Her own son, fighting the pain of his mate's pain.

As it subsided, my wolf finally broke free as I completely lost the ability to rationalise knowing my mate was in pain, danger, and there was nothing I could do about it.

My skin stretched and broke and I felt the familiar sensation of bones breaking as I shifted into my wolf, letting my heightened senses take control of the human emotions threatening to tear my world apart from the pain I knew my mate was in.

I rushed out of the house, and into the woods, ignoring the pleas of my mother behind me.

I knew I should be helping immobilise forces to help find Sang, but I couldn't deal with whatever she just felt. It felt like someone has just absolutely mauled her with their claws, something I knew only a male werewolf had the strength or power to do in one swift swipe.

I howled at the moon, whimpering and praying to the moon goddess I could find her before it was too late.
