Aiden's POV
I jolted in my seat, feeling like I couldn't breath. I bent over, trying to gulp in as much air as I could.
We were in the middle of a pack meeting, and my wolf was not happy about it. Sang had been gone for two days without any word. No one had made contact with Bloom or Alice either.
I knew something was wrong. Those girls, and especially Sang, would never leave like that. The last thing she told me was that she was going shopping. I should have known to send out security when they left. How could I be so stupid?
I demanded a pack meeting to try and find her. The worst thoughts possible were entering my mind, and my wolf was losing control.
I'd already snapped at members of my pack, and it took three to calm me down enough to be reasonable and sort this situation out.
"Can we not send members from other packs to try and find her? I'm sure our neighbouring pack would lend a few members to search."
"I'll have to ask the Alpha of the pack."
"Son, are you alright?" The Alpha noticed my emotion change and stood up, rushing over to me and put a hand on my back.
"Aiden?" Tyler called. "What's wrong?"
"I.." I gasped for air, "can't.. breathe!"
I clutched for something, and ended up falling on to the floor, a chair I grabbed onto crashing down beside me.
"Aiden!"
The feeling subsided, and my vision refocused.
"What the hell just happened!" The Alpha demanded.
There were so many voices talking at once. But my wolf kept howling over and over and over again. Sang. Sang. Sang. My baby. My luna.
"Sang..." I whispered.
"What?" The Alpha said.
"Sang." I coughed, feeling like there was water trapped inside my chest. "It was Sang."
"What was Sang? Aiden we're trying to find h-"
"No! It's Sang. She's hurt. She was downing. I could.. I could feel her drowning."
"It's the mate bond.." I heard my mother say. I looked up to see tears welling in her eyes.
It broke my heart. My mom and Sang had built such a strong relationship I could see it was killing her just as much as it was killing me she was missing. I could see it was hurting all of the pack members. We needed her back. I needed her back.
"But.. you haven't completed the bond yet."
"Sometimes mate bonds are strong, even before the ceremony."
"Can you hear her yet? Have you tried speaking to her?"
"Sang! Sang can you hear me. Baby please answer me I need you."
I shook my head. "I don't think she can hear me. She must be somewhere where she can't talk to me. Her telepathic abilities are being blocked somehow."
"Wolfsbane."
"But she has wolfsbane in her blood and she could still talk to me."
"The wolfsbane in her blood is preventing her from shifting, not preventing her from talking to you through the mate bond. What ever she is in.. is preventing that. That's the only logical explanation," someone said, speaking up above the whispers of the crowd.
"New orders. I want a list of every possible machine that can be preventing communication. Cells, boxes, materials, everything. You need to keep trying to get in contact with her son. We're trying to find a needle in a haystack - you need to try and find the haystack," Alpha said to me.
I nodded in understanding.
We're going to find you Sang. I'm going to find you.
