I gathered my wits as best I could, nearly laughing at my actions less than 2 minutes ago, and made my way to meet the girls in the dining room.
Alice took one look at me, and knew something interesting had happened. Bloom and Lucy followed, catching my gaze, and Lucy squealed in excitement.
"Your eyes!" she gushed. "That's so weird OMG I love them I want that colour!."
Well that answers my question, I obviously haven't calmed down enough. I cringed, meeting the eyes of Bloom and Alice who bore the same smirk, well aware of what just took place. How, I have no idea.
                              "Yeah they're.. a side effect."
                              "Of what?"
Desire. "Being a wolf," I replied as she stared at the purple voids of colour.
"What wolfy habits you have Sang," Bloom chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Oh yes, how you just wish you got your way and let your wolf take control of everything," Alice added, taking a bite out of the game Bloom decided to start.
Lucy furrowed her brows in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing!" I replied, grabbing her arm and briskly making my way to the front door. "Shall we go now?"
"Lets clean the absolute adoration Aiden has shown you before we leave, ey?" Bloom suggested, snickering as she playfully admired the love bites left on my neck from my wolf-man.
Alice and Bloom snickered behind me.
                              •-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•
My mind wondered as we drove out of the pack mansion and towards the ample promises the city holds. The snow reminded me of the white, plain, boring walls in Forks High School. How long ago that seemed.
Even though it's only been a couple of weeks, it feels like years have flown by. I've met, and actually talked, to more people in the short time I've been here than I have in my whole life. That speaks for itself.
The life I had planned out for myself has changed so much I almost don't know what it's like to live boring old Sang's previous life anymore.
My mind drifted to Gramps and the mysterious man. Deep down inside I get a bad feeling in my stomach, and my chest feels like it shifts slightly. I know my wolf's there, wanting desperately to break free, and it pains me to know I can do nothing to help her finally experience the world in her own way.
I wondered what the pack will have to do to fix me. I don't even really know about what medicines they use or how they administer them. When I went into Bloom's room, all the jars were filled with herbs and other things, making me wonder whether she administers them in funky ways that compliment the appearance of the medicines.
The thought of my blood being filled with a herb that could quite potentially end my life made my skin itch and my nerves twitch on end.
                              "Sang."
Bloom snapped me out of my daydream and told me to stop scratching. I looked down in confusion and saw fresh red scratch marks from my nails running along the length of my left arm. Oops.
She quietly eyed the rash developing on my arms, but continued what she was doing. It was just eczema, I've had it in varying degrees but always had it.
The city presented itself to us in a flurry of activity. People milled about in groups on the corners of streets, laughing at the tales their friends told, oblivious to the pick pockets that were amidst their presence.
The car parked outside a large mall, distinct by the bright and almost blinding lights surrounding the rooftop of the giant complex. I grinned and unbuckled my seat belt before we'd even parked the car. The girls all chuckled at my enthusiasm.
We all piled out of the car and made our way to the entrance.
People of all ages and ethnicity milled about casually, walking to and fro stores with multi-colored bags carrying newly purchased items.
Alice squealed and we turned to see the Forever 21 store that had captured her attention.
"Let's go let's go!" she gushed, grabbing my arm and practically dragging me towards the bright yellow flashy store.
She let go and zoomed through the racks, leaving me, Bloom and Lucy to chuckle at her energy.
Lucy began eyeing clothes that caught her attention as she walked through the aisles. Alice walked away in search of her own style of clothes, and I followed Lucy not wanting to be alone.
"Sang, do you like this?" Lucy asked me after a while, holding up a baby blue swing top with Were just mint to be written in green with a picture of a mint leaf at the bottom of the shirt. I grinned and nodded my head, loving the pun. I'd read about them once in my English class before I moved, but never got to see an example because the bell rung for lunch.
Lucy walked her way through the racks of clothes and I followed her. A flash of light caught my attention in the corner of my eye, and I glanced at where Lucy was before seeking out the shiny thing. I made sure Lucy wasn't far away before peeping over a rack of clothes where I saw the flash.
I frowned at a metal rack that I mistook for something interesting. Something rustled behind me, and I quickly spun around to find Lucy gone.
"Lucy?" I called out. Uh oh. Not good. I can't lose her in this place!
I walked back to where I last saw her last, and called her name again. When she didn't respond I took a deep breath to try and calm my nerves. She couldn't have gone too far, the store can't be that big.
I heard a rustle and immediately followed the sound around the corner of one of the walls in the store and ran smack bang into a hard chest. He smelled of cigarettes and I instantly recoiled from him.
"S-sorry," I stuttered, not wanting to be rude but wanting to run as far away from the smell as I could. I looked up at a devilish grin and my heart dropped down into my stomach.
"Hello girlie. Whatcha' up to pretty lady," he winked suggestively. I cringed at his foulness. And he immediately frowned.
"I expect you to answer me when I ask you a question," he growled. My eyes widened as his eyes changed from brown to yellow instantly.
There's only one type of group like this... and I can tell this isn't going to end well at all.
