I woke up before Aiden the next morning. I was trapped between his chest and the sheets, and a thick layer of warmth surrounded me. I slowly pulled out from his protective hold and sat on the edge of the bed. I arched my back and stretched my arms above me, yawning in the process. 2 more days I mentally told myself. Just 2.

I stood up and walked towards the window. The sun was just beginning to rise, and the sky was filling up with light. Slowly, I trekked my way downstairs and to the fridge. I found a container of yoghurt and pulled out some fruit from the fridge. I cut up all of the ingredients and split it between two bowls. I placed a few dollops of yoghurt on top of the fruit and started eating. I wanted to wait for him to eat but I had to go across the road and get changed and grab my stuff.

I finished breakfast as the sun had risen over the horizon and the sky was filled with a pastel yellow and orange light that made everything glow. I placed Aidens bowl in the fridge so it wouldn't get hot, and quietly trekked my way back up to the bedroom to grab my old clothes. I leaned over him on the side of the bed.

"Aiden," I whispered. I waited a few beats before he responded with a moan. "I'm going back across the road to get ready. There's breakfast in the fridge for you." I quickly changed my clothes in the bathroom so Gramps wouldn't see the jumper if he woke up. I held onto it though, because I secretly wanted to keep it. It was just too comfy.

I made my way over to my house, opening the door quietly and listening for any sounds of movement. When I heard none, I made my way up to my bedroom and had a quick shower. I dried myself off, and changed into a pair of black running shorts because it was the first thing that I saw in my dresser, and a light green tank top. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and packed my bag. I was putting on my shoes when I heard a soft bump against my window. My breathing hitched and I whipped my head around, only to find Aiden there smirking. I finished tying my laces and made my way over to him. He had his feet resting up against the side of the house and was holding himself up with his arms on the outside of the window.

I chuffed at him. "Show off," I muttered, earning a deep chuckle from him. Still, I leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Morning," I whispered. He gave me a big smile and whispered morning in return. He dropped back down to the ground, and I jogged to pick up my bag and made my way downstairs. I met him outside the door where he was waiting for me. I locked the door and turned to face him.

"Are we catching the bus?" I asked. He shook his head and tugged at my hand until we were at his garage across the road. He flicked a button the remote and a mechanical door opened upwards, revealing his yellow sport scar. He pressed the unlock button and an orange blinking light signified that the car was unlocked. He opened the passenger door for me and I slid in, thanking him. He beamed at me, and made his way over to the drivers side. I leaned over to put my bag on the backseat just as he got in the car.

"Kinda wish I was taking you shopping now instead of going to school," he said.

"2 more days," I told him. He sighed and started the engine. I rested my head against the window and watched the scenery pass by.

"Do you know how to drive?" he asked me.

I looked over at him and shook my head.

"So many thinks I'm gonna have to teach you," he said. My cheeks blushed slightly, and I turned back towards the window to hide it.

When we arrived at school, we got out and he shut off the car. He put an arm around my shoulder, and I put one around his hip out of instinct because it was too awkward to walk with hands by my side. He greeted some of his friends as we walked through the parking lot. He leaned down to whisper something in my ear.
