Emerald
"So, did you have fun with your man?" Sabrina asked me. A smile appeared, "Yeah," I replied back.

I did have a great time but something I wished didn't happened. August had a little celebration at this restaurant and a few guest were invited one of them I wasn't to fond. I didn't feel threaten by her just a little taken back. I stayed chilled and cool the entire time. I let them talk among themselves, but I made sure I kept a cup n my hand. I thought August didn't notice how drunk I had got until the next morning. I was woken up by the door bell. August rumbled which stated he wasn't going go get his door, so I proceed to get up. I didn't bother to look out the peephole, but granted when I opened the door, Toniee was standing there. "My bad, but August told me I could come before I left to give him his presence." I looked at her confused but nonetheless turned back around to go get August. The saltiness of the situation was heard in my voice when I woke him up, "Toniee, spelled with an i and too e's is downstairs. I walked back out to go tell her he was coming before I went in the kitchen to get me something to drink. When I finished he came in the kitchen to confront my actions last night and now in the morning. "You drinking?" He asked looking down at me. "Yeah, some water." "Oh, cause I thought you was going react the same way you did last night." I sucked my teeth. "Don't suck your teeth. Now, you know how I feel with your little dudes." I frowned when he said that and I still frown going back over this interaction in my head, "Now, I know how it feels? First, I'm not threaten but her just taken back. Seeing how you never brought her up before. I'm fine with you having friends just keep it at a friend level. I should never feel like they know you more emotional or physically. I hope you have the same attitude towards me." I replied back calmly. I was proud of myself in that moment. I didn't rise my voice, didn't lash out, or get defensive. I think it also surprised August.

"That face tells me something else. You over there in deep thought." I shook my head, "Nothing." She looked at me tilting her head to the side, "I know from the way you came back tired as hell. Ya aint get no sleep, but it seems more than that." "Brina" "Okay, I will let you be for now." I laughed reaching over to grab my baby, "you miss me?" She made a funny face before yawning, "I guess not." We both laughed as she started to talk back making faces. "How's has motherhood been treating you?" "Like I knew it would out here running around." "Well it looks good on you. You know I'm here to help whenever you need help." "Yeah I know but I know you got just as work as a do." " That means we can work together to more done."

Outsider's Eyes

Sabrina ain't want to burden no one with her and D responsibility and Em always made sure they knew that could call her for help. Emerald had no problems with coming over and just being an extra hand. That's the reason she was over there now, she figured she could finish up some work while seeing her baby. Sabrina had to do some stuff around their place, so it was perfect. They talked about other things like Sabrina and D family coming together for the sake of the child, school, and after school is done. Sabrina was finishing early so she could get in the workforce, so she could provide a little better for her child. Meanwhile D, was graduating on time and already had jobs lined up. He was working a good internship with a sports agency now that was paying good with flexible hours. Emerald eventually left once D came walking through the door showing Sabrina too much love. She called August on her home. They stayed on the phone until she got home. The she still wasn't use to is the I love you being said whenever they got off the phone. August was still trying to make sure Em was okay with him talking to Toniee. Emerald knew he was trying extra hard for this reason, so she let him know that as long as you come to me first and don't share personal information it was fine.

Emerald got off the phone when she walked in her dorm seeing the girls all in the living room and dining room eating. "Hey ya," she said making her way in. They looked in her direction saying hey. She noticed that Shannon was sitting on the floor smiling at her phone making her laugh, "Shan, it's that good huh?" Shannon looked up fast realizing that she was over there looking like a high schooler. "Shut up, Em." "What ya watching in here?" "Shades of Blue." "Ya binge watching it?" "Yeah, I heard it was good." Ashley said making Amelia nudge her a little. "I ain't want to watch with you either Amelia." Emerald said in response to her rudeness. Amelia looked over at Emerald trying to roll her eyes causing Emerald to show her the right way of doing things. Shannon shook her head at the antics but kept her mind focus on the conversation Shawn and her was having. They have been talking almost on regular since the night they silently admitted they were feeling each other. Almost on a regular because they both have separate lives and need some time to themselves. Either likes to be too clingy but still likes to feel connected.
