August
Watching her stand her ground and say only half of how she felt had me wanting to forget my damn self. She stood in there for a minute with her hands on the kitchen counter and her head hung down. "Emerald, I know I mess up. I said some things and did some things that weren't the best, but it was just a lapse in my judgement." She let out a deep breath as she turned her head towards me, "Just a lapse in judgement. I don't care. You painted me to be some hoe in your head and now I'm supposed to give you time for you to apologize or whatever. Fuck no, so just leave. You got them waiting for nothing." "I gave you the chance to explain everything the night it happened, you just didn't" I said looking at her with seriousness. "Would you explain yourself to someone that you knew already mind up their mind? You ain't say nothing to me the whole ride back to your place. Even when we got inside you went straight upstairs got your weed and went outside. I had no chance to change your mind." I shook my head, "I would still explain myself." "Well, you would've had to because I would never think you would jeopardize something we worked towards." She said walking out the kitchen heading to the front door. "August just leave. I'm not in the mood to deal with this right now. I had a long day and on top of that I didn't plan on seeing you." She opened to door signaling to leave out. I let out a sigh because I knew tonight was going end with us still not on good terms.
Friday
Emerald
It was on Friday and I finally got my apartment looking the way I want it. I was currently getting myself ready to hang out with Stefanie. She came over the day after the conversation with August and of course added her two cents about the situation. Her words exactly was, "I need to listen to him." I fanned her off and changed the subject. Tonight we was going go out to have a couple drinks, dance, and just have fun before I start work which is Monday. I decided on wearing a cute pair of linen shorts with a loose fitted crop top. It stopped at the right length under my boobs, so when I lifted my arms nothing will come popping out. I still decided to wear a cute lace bra just in case. I stood in front of my mirror, that I was hell bent on getting, checking out my outfit. Perfect it was. I heard a knock at my door and I went to go get. When I looked through peek hole I was surprise to see my neighbor, Greg. "Hey?!" I said confused. "Hey," he said eyeing my outfit, "I wanted to know if by any chance you may have some oil." I frowned a little before laughing, "Yeah, you need some?" "Yeah, and I ain't really feel like going all the way to the store." I nodded, "Hold on" I stepped back in the house and went in the kitchen to get him some. "Here you go," I said giving him the bottle. "No, I don't want to take all of it. I'm just frying some chicken." "Just bring it back when you pour what you need in the pot." "Thanks," I nodded and closed my door. After about five minutes there was another knock on the door. I opened it to see Stefanie standing there and Greg coming out his door with oil. "Hey girl" "Hey," I said giving her a hug. She walked in and Greg smiled giving me the oil, "Thanks, Emerald. You just saved my stomach." "No, problem but I'm excepting at least one piece of chicken," I said joking. "One problem, if you still here I'll get you and your friend a plate." Stefanie came laughing to the door, "Sir, can you cook while you offering your food." I shook my head laughing at Stef low blows but waited for his answer, "Fo'sho. Watch" We both nodded, "We will be watching."
Greg and I closed our doors. "Em you ready to have some fun tonight?" "Of course, I'm always down for a good time." She nodded as she looked through my pantry for some snacks, "I'm going start charging you to eat my snacks." She laughed while grabbing some fruit snacks. "Where you want to go to eat?" "Wherever they got some good food, you know I'm not picky." She nodded, "Em, have you talked to August?" I ignored her and kept strolling through my phone. "I know your ass heard me. I take that as a no." I sighed, "Stefanie what you want from me?" "I want you to talk to that boy so he can stop bothering me." "Well, I can get that to stop. That's all you had to ask." She looked at me not really understanding what I was planning. I pulled out my phone, "What's the number again?" She said the numbers as I pushed them in. The phone rung and in no time he was saying hello. "Hey. August." "Hey, Emerald you called." "Umm yeah," I said getting up to walk over to the deck.
