Excuse the Errors and Enjoy!!
Claudette
I was sitting nervous at the table thinking about if I should just get up and leave. Craig said he wanted me to meet his friend since I was always asking about her. I knew he wasn't messing with her, but it seem like that was his best friends ever since the summer started. He said she came back down here from school and he met her when she was on winter break. I didn't know he was talking about my boyfriend's neighbor that if I ain't know Greg so well, he would be over at her crib. I ain't have no room to be talking seeing how I was the one doing the cheating.
Yes, I was cheating on Greg, but I didn't mean to it just happened. I was out getting lunch and I met Craig. He was a well put together dude giving me attention. It was innocent at first. We would meet up have lunch, talk about life, and stuff. Then, one day we kissed and never looked back. His voice made he quiver while my stomach did jumps. I never had the happened before, well except with Greg. Greg was my first everything. We met in college and I finally gave him the time of day. Now, here we are 3 years later. Thinking about marriage, he was anyway. I was living out this life I never got the chance to because I was so head over heels for Greg. He got to experience other girls when we was on our on and off bug. I didn't because it felt wrong. Greg was the only person that could take me to that place. But once I met Craig it was over. I felt different. I knew it was wrong that's why I made sure to keep Greg near me. I knew he could leave me at any moment if he was done. I just didn't want him too. Call me selfish, but he was my comfort, my rock, and my first. I couldn't confine in Craig the way I do with Greg. He was not looking for a long term situation and I needed stability. Greg was willingly to give me that, I just needed to get this out of my system.
Emerald gave him a hug with a huge smile on her face. I thought she didn't notice me at first, but once I looked at her that smile left her face. "Hey, Em. This is the girl we be talking about, Claudette." She stuck her hand out for me to shake it. "Hello." She said with a little attitude. Craig picked up on it but didn't say nothing. She sat down, "Ya already order? Craig you know this my favorite place." "Nah, we just got something to drink." "Okay." We sat there not saying nothing. Craig was looking at Emerald who was focusing real hard on the menu. I guess he was over it real quick because he soon moved the menu, "Emerald, so you going ignore us." "Over the phone you said she wanted to meet me. So, shouldn't she be the one talking." She said putting on a fake smile. "Yo, Em what's up with you? You said you won't come in here judging" "That's before I knew that your girl was my neighbor's girl. You know the one that I said be tripping about me being around him and I don't want him." Fuck. I see she was about to really go off. Craig turned and looked at me, "Look Craig you know I'm not about to judge you but as for her. She gives me the hardest time about her dude when she the one creeping. I'm going just go sit at the bar because I know too much about this messy ass triangle." She said getting up.
"I'm just going leave." "Nah, you stay here. I'm going to go talk to Em real quick." He got up and I was now sitting at the table by myself and nerves as hell. I knew Greg and Emerald was close, but I didn't know if should go against Craig. I was about to start biting my nails when I noticed Emerald getting up and walking out the restaurant. Craig came back looking like he had enough for one day. "What she say?" I asked as he slide back in the booth. "She said she needs sometime to process what just happened. Ya work together?" He asked. I hung my head shaking my head. "Yeah, something like that. I work at the law firm where the firm she's working is coming together." "So, that means we work together." He shook his head, "Em is right, this is crazy."
1 Hour Later
I was opening Greg's door to see that he wasn't there. I was about to call him when I saw him chilling in the patio area with Emerald. I swallowed hard as I proceed out there. "Hey Clo, ain't know you was coming pass." He said standing up giving me a hug. "Hey babe, yeah I thought I would surprise you." Emerald released a faint laughed as she got up from her spot. "G, I holla at you later." "Alright, Em." "Hold up Emerald, I actually wanted to talk to you in private. Babe I meet up inside." He nodded and walked off. We both stood there waiting for Greg to walk off. "Look, Claudette you can save all of it. I really don't care. I will talk to Craig and he will know what I decide to with this information I got." "Emerald, please don't say nothing. I will cut it off with Craig soon. You just don't understand." "Yeah, but what I do understand is that you got a nigga that will do anything for, thinks eventually you come around, and start a family with him. Meanwhile, you got here fucking some other nigga that to be honest won't be able to love you like that man right there. You two got history that girls like me dream of. To marry your college sweetheart, be out here getting money together, and have little ones running around. Travel the fucking world and stunt on them. If you feel that he hindered you from experiencing being a hoe, boo he was helping you and trust me you will see when shit don't plan out the way got it in your head." She took one more look at me. Shaking at head, "The sad thing is you're actually a pretty girl but the attitude and your actions fuck it all up. Hopefully, you get it together before it's too late." She walked off with me standing there with tears in my eyes and feeling like shit.
