Excuse the Errors!!! Ya should proud of me I managed to get together this short. Meanwhile, my ass sitting up in class uploading the chapter.
Ma you got to calm down was the only words in reality keeping her calm. He rubbed her back giving a massage that her body was much in need of. She let out a sigh as his hands manage to work magic on her tensed body. "See, you shouldn't be this tense when you got me." She smiled a little getting more comfortable under his touch. After a long day in court, she was over it. She was ready for this case to be dismissed and erased from her record. That wish was becoming closer but not fast enough. Meanwhile, August have been there for her at the distant she asked for. Of course, they had their moments of him not understanding and her not realizing he was trying his best to help, but that didn't stop them from making it work. "Thank you." "No problem, this the least I can do." "Forreal, I know I can be an ass at times and I just want you to know I truly appreciate this, the patience and caring attitude you have with me." He was soften by her words because he could tell she genuinely meant them. He won't lie and say everyday is a walk in the park for them after this curve ball, but it was moments where she showed her vulnerable side that made him feel some type of way. "I appreciate the acknowledgement." She turned around to look at him a little, "Let's switch." His face scrunched up, "Nah, I'm giving you a massage." "Yeah, I know but come on." She got up a little covering her boobs as she grabbed her shirt sliding it back on. She had other motives that would either mess up the mood or work in her favor. She knew he have been dealing with some major drama and his head has been in a dark space. She have tried to get him to talk but to much failure. He manages to turn it back on her. She sat on his lower back as she rubbed some warm oil on her hands. "You ready?" she asked. "You better be good." "We will see."
She started slow running his palms up and down his back slowly making sure the blood got the flowing. She noticed he settled down a little and laid his head on his hands. She went in on the upper shoulder working her magic making him do a little relaxing growl in his throat. "Sounds like someone liking it." "Ummm, just keep it up." She giggled a little before starting a conversation. "Why is your body so tense, anyway?" She asked acting nonchalant about what she was asking. "Because I'm worried about my girl." She gave him the stank look silently as she continued to give him a massage. "This more than your girl crazy life." He sighed, "Em, I know you good enough that I know when you fishy. Ask what you want to ask." "What's been going on with you lately. Please don't say nothing. I can tell you in a different mind frame that's dark may I add." "Part of that is true. I'm not going lie. Just a lot have been going on outside of you. It's just I need to get my thoughts together." "Will talking to me help with some of those thoughts? You know you can vent to me about things that's bothering you including me." He turned over so now she was sitting on his lower stomach and he was looking at her in her eyes. "Emerald, have you ever wondered your purpose? Looked over your choices and figured out where you really went left?" She looked at him with honesty in her eyes, "My purpose was only hard to find when I kept looking once I stopped it started to come. " "Why you make everything sound easy?" "What's up?" He started to rub her sides, "I ain't seen let alone talk to mother in a minute. In fact, it was when I first met you. My family been trying me and I just been trying to figure things out. It more so me in my own head trying put shit together and dealing with bullshit." She was about to get up, "Nah, you fine right here." She nodded, "Let me reach over real quick." She reached for a notebook. "You the one that left that on my doorstep." "I knew you was going through some stuff just not opening up and I understand. But you know how I know write and then days later I read what I wrote." He nodded, "Maybe you can try that method." He thought about her idea and it sounded good.
Next Morning
He was up all night writing in that notebook. After Em finished his massage, he rested his nerves for a couple hours before waking back up. He picked up the black leather notebook and his pen before making sure Emerald was comfortable with his pillow. Sneaking away in the basement, he sat there with his eyes closed before saying, "Lord, partna I know you got my back" with that his pen went to work.
Emerald woke up to see that August was no longer next to her. She laid her head back down on the pillow getting her surrounds together before getting out the bed. She stretched while climbing out the bed making her way to the bathroom. Brushing her teeth, she looked in the mirror seeing that it was about time to do her hair. She decided she would just slap some coconut oil all on it and deep condition for the day. After finishing her activities in the bathroom, she went to look for August. She made her way to the last place he could be, the basement. She heard his light snores as she turned the corner to see him passed out on the couch. She crawled up to snuggle up with him. His hands automatically wrapped around her making her notice the notebook. She smile to herself as she settled in his arms. She was about to be back sleep once she heard and felt his voice on her neck, "What time is it?" "I think going on 11:30." "You eat?" "Nah, I came looking for you after I showered and stuff." He cleared his throat, "I want lazy breakfast." "Okay, you getting up." He nodded finally opening his eyes. "I guess it's hair day" he said once he saw the cap on her head. "You already know!!" She started to laugh as he sat up. She was about to get up off the couch when he told her to sit back down. He grabbed the notebook handing it to her, "Read while I shower and stuff." "What about breakfast?" "Em" She grabbed it getting comfortable on the couch.
She opened the book taking a deep breath. The first page was doddle of a whole bunch words that you could tell meant something to his thought purpose. Success, Life, Purpose, Clarified, Family, were just a few of the words. Em ran her hand down the pages as she too another breath. She knew she was getting a glimpse of his life that he managed to keep under wraps. The only questions that was standing was she ready and what would she do with this information.
"Life has been fucked up. I got stuff weighing on my shoulders and can't find a way to release this mess. I have been in my own mind trying to piece everything together. I'm looking for my mother and she ain't nowhere to be founded. I honestly don't know what's been going on. These thought I'm having ain't normal, but the only person that manages to help me get out my own head got her own problems. I know she got a lot more going on than she letting on I can see it in her face. Somehow, she still manages and she give me hope that I can conquer this. She also reminds me that I have to turn to the man upstairs. Lord, you know I talk to you everyday. I'm just having problems actually letting go. With time I guess, but think you for bringing Em in my life at this time. Regardless if we last forever or for a season, she has made an impact that I will remember and appreciate it. As for this music shit, it's the next thing keeping me sane. This album is really a doc of my mind and changes I have been going through. Through these lyrics, I pour everything I have been dealing with into that I hope touches everyone and makes something clearer for someone. I know it has helped me every time I replay a song. I'm very blessed and I see that I just need to get a grip on everything. As for a family, it's whatever. "
She closed the book as she took in the impact of his words and was mindful of what he let her see and read. She sat there running her fingers over his words appreciating the vulnerability in his words. She closed the book and got up heading up stairs. Once she reached the kitchen, she saw him standing there starting on breakfast. "You going do those little bread things with bacon in them?" He asked. "Yeah" she said making him turn around. She put the notebook on the counter while they stared into each other eyes. In that moment, they knew the openness, trust, and honesty was there.
