Outsider's Eyes

Stefanie landed at Lax and Emerald was standing there waiting for other partna to come through. They both needed to catch-up on the things that were going on in their lives. Even though they talked all the time, some things were better said face to face. Stefanie wanted to let Emerald know that her and Keith was really making g progress in their relationship and she was excited that she Fi ally found someone that understood her and her work. Grant it, she would love to see him more but age aint complain too much because he was getting his. Emerald wanted to tell Stefanie all about this job and her thoughts on maybe starting here first straight out of school instead of going somewhere that's the big times. She wanted to get her input since she was already in the real world. She would also tell Stef about the open line of communication that is happening between her and August. It always took her for a loop because she knew that her August and her were serious about this but knew work still needed to be put in. Emerald never really talked to other people about their relationship because she ain't want people in her business she was very secretive. When Stef came through they ran to each smiling ear to ear. "I missed you, sis' "I did too sis." They didn't care that people were looking at them like they were crazy. They were two friends meeting up again to fuck some shit up and get some work done at the same time. "Come on so we can get your bags because I know you got like fifty of them joints." Stefanie laughed, "As long as you know."

Finally, they were at the hotel. Sitting on the couch, eating some tacos and quesadillas. "So, what you telling me is you not leaving my brother no time soon." "Omg, Em yes that's what I'm saying." "I'm just saying. I need to make sure you ain't about to leave my brother heartbroken and lonely. He really is feeling you. I can tell by the way he talks about you." "You know I have that affect." Stef said making them both bust out laughing. "You you know I can say the same thing about you and August." "And I can say the same thing you said." She gave Emerald major side eye, "For real." "Yeah, you remember that small soft spot I had for him." Stef nodded slowly. "Well, its a major soft spot now." "Look at you. See I knew its only a matter if time before you admitted it. I'm happy for ya though ya both low key needed to find each other." "Yea yea, all I know is I bet not even up heartbroken and crying over this nigga. I already was like that once and I'm not doing g it again." "Emerald he not that crazy." "Let's hope." Stefanie fanned her off changing the topic. "So, you know tonight is the first event. You know how to do makeup right?" "Stef, what you got me into? You said I would be helping you dress models." "Yeah, but I need some that can do makeup too because my makeup artist trying play." "Who going have the makeup for 15 different girls of all 15 different shades." "I got that covered just need your help." Emerald sighed, "I guess I can help you out." "You was going help me regardless or I would've called Keith." "Keith can't do nothing." They both got situated and soon started to get ready for their night.

Emerald decided to keep it cute and comfortable is some boyfriend jeans and crop top. She kept it cute by wearing some cute heels. They came in the venue dragging along the bags of clothes, shoes, and everything else. They both were in work mode and getting things done. Setting up the clothes on racks with the names of models and picture already attached. Em got her makeshift area ready for hair, makeup, and whatever else the models would need help with. The set was done by time the first model walked in the back. Emerald hadn't seen Stefanie since they got there because she was in the front making sure the seating, guest list, music, and theatrics were right for the show. This was a big show for Stefanie because she was showing that she was more than a stylist. She was someone that could put together a show with other creative people and even make her own collection. Emerald was proud of Stefanie. In the short amount of time that they have grown to know each other, they appreciate each others talents and have a respect that goes beyond friendship. The model sat in the chair, "You're Emerald. Stefanie told me to come back here and you would start my process." Emerald smiled, "Yes, and you're," she turned back to look at the pictures she put on the outside of the tall mirror. "Jessi." "Yup," "Okay, well let's start with hair first." "Shouldn't you start makeup?" "You where a high bun right? It's best to do that first than clean your face from any hair product that may get on your face."

Emerald told the girl getting the hair stuff ready. "Oh," was the only thing she could say. Emerald started on the girls hair. She tried her best not to be too rough in case the girl was tendered headed. The girl laughed, "You can be a little rough." "Thank you." Emerald got comfortable and in about five minutes the girl had a nice high ponytail and long braid. Emerald asked the girl if she was allergy to witch hazel before wiping her face down. Once the girl shook her head no Emerald went back to work. By time she finished her makeup two other girls showed up, "Can you guys sit in those seats set up for ya. I will right with Gisbelle first." All the girls were nice and pleasant towards Emerald despite them probably knowing this was a new scene for her. Emerald knocked out both girls when Stefanie and another girl walked in. "How's everything going Emerald? The girls look great. You nailed the look." "You know I try." The girls laughed at Emerald as she popped her non existing collar. "Okay, well you got like five more girls to do and the other girls should be here. She suppose to be helping the girls get dress." She was going finish until Emerald cut her off, "Until then you want me to help the girls get dress and make sure they looking right. I got you Stefanie." Stef smiled, "Thanks, you're a life saver."
