CHAPTER 2
K POV:

"Well, I hope you enjoyed our tour today and meeting the Professors. I must say that we are pleased to have you at Hogwarts this year Ms. Harrison, we don't get many transfer or exchange students. I believe you're the first we've had in over 60 years."

"So.......I'm allowed to come to Hogwarts?"

"Of course my dear, why else would I have told you to come today?"

"I've had people change their minds after meeting me these past few weeks."

"Well that isn't the case here. Here you are welcome."

"Thank you. I'm honestly just pleased that you were willing to accept a transfer student Professor. Especially one that isn't human."

He doesn't say anything back to me immediately, he just stares at me over his glasses with those twinkling eyes of his. He has his fingertips pressed together like a tipee as he continues to stare and if I didn't know any better I would swear he was using Legilimency on me, but I would know. At least I would hope so.

"My dear, surely you don't think you aren't human?"

"Professor, have you ever met anyone with the same.......condition as me?"

"I can't say I have, but there is a first time for everything. Why do you ask?"

"Well Professor, everyone here with the exception of one or two of the staff are acting as if I am a normal student, rather than some blood drinking monster. So excuse my language but what the hell is wrong with everyone here? Is my family paying that much?"

At first he doesn't say anything, he just stares at me with a deadly serious look in his eyes as they continue to twinkle. I don't know whether he is thinking of what to say, or debating on telling the truth. But I know I should explain my attitude right now. If my mother knew what I had just said to a Professor, let alone the headmaster, she would have my head.

"Forgive me Professor. I'm extremely grateful and I don't mean to seem rude. It's just that usually when people know what I am, well I don't exactly get welcomed with open arms as I have here. Quite frankly, it's freaking me out a little bit."

"Hmmm yes, you keep speaking about what you are. I've seen what the file says you are, but why don't you explain to me what you are in your own words."

"Well my mother was bitten by a vampire, but unaffected, while pregnant with me. I was born and they realized I wasn't normal. The medical term is half-vamp. Rare to start with, but my condition is different. I can retract my fangs, I have vamp speed but only in short bursts, I can obviously go outside in the sun, and I age normally. I need blood during different moon phases, as you know full, half, and new but it doesn't have to be human. But the craving for humans is always there. People look at me and see a monster. Hence why I'm here and not at one of the previous schools I've interviewed with."

"So you believe yourself to be a monster as well?"

"I don't know what I believe myself to be anymore Professor."

"Well if it will help put your mind at ease. Your parents are not paying any more than any other student at Hogwarts, though they offered several times. I also know that you have never attacked anyone before, yes there may have been a few close calls, but your restraint over your instincts are impeccable to none. You are no more monster than I am."

I don't say anything back to him. I can't find the words to say. All I can do is sit there staring back at him as my eyes grow misty with tears. I have waited for years to hear someone else tell me that I'm not a monster. I don't think my family thinks I'm one, but they have never assured me of that by saying that I'm not one. Last term my best friend called me a monster and ran from me. But this man, this brilliant crazy famous wizard, just told me that I'm not a monster.
