CHAPTER 21
K POV:Tonight was absolutely perfect. Well, alright when George and Fred ran off and left me and Angelina at the drinks table to talk to Bagman, that wasn't perfect. But everything else was absolutely perfect. I had gotten a blue dress to wear, and met George at the doors of the Great Hall. He was so handsome looking in his dress robes, kissing my hand as he met me at the door, before telling me that I was the 'most beautiful creature' he had ever laid eyes one.
After Harry and Vik and the other champions started the dance, George asked me to dance as well. The only time we stopped dancing the whole night was for the drink break where he and Fred took off after Bagman. I was also briefly introduced to Percy, another of their older brothers but I didn't like him too much. I'm wondering if Percy was adopted honestly because he is nothing like the other Weasley kids.
The twins were kind of upset after Bagman, well ran away from them, but a quick kiss from us and they perked back up pretty soon. We were some of the last people to leave the Great Hall, with Neville and Ginny leaving with us and heading back to the common room. We also one of the couples that had to be told to stand arm's length apart on several occasions, mostly because we couldn't keep the 'snogging' down to a minimum.
I didn't see too much of the trio tonight, except for Hermione with Vik every once and while. I know Vik had a good time though based on the smile on his face the whole night. I doubt Ron or Harry had a good time though, they left really early in the night.
After climbing into the common room, I kiss George goodnight and head upstairs to change into pjs. I lay down to go to sleep but as soon as I fell asleep the nightmares came. These were nothing like previous nightmares. I didn't kill anyone, rather George found out what I was and took his ring back and told me I was a monster again and again and again. I shoot out of bed and find that I'm sweating. At least I'm not crying. I look over and everyone else in our room is sleeping quietly.
I consider trying to lay back down but I know there's no way I'm getting to sleep tonight. I head downstairs to the common room and hear voices. I didn't think anyone else would be up this early or late, it's 4 in the morning so I guess it could be either. I'm feeling drained with the moon becoming full later today and the lack of sleep, but I'd rather sit up and try to read in the common room than face those nightmares again. I walk silently into the common room and see it's Ron and Harry talking by the fire.
"It doesn't matter that he's half giant does it?" (Harry)
"It kind of does mate. Giants aren't really kind and gentle, more like vicious and mean." (Ron)
"But Hagrid's never been anything but nice." (Harry)
"Won't matter, if people find out they'll think he's dangerous." (Ron)
"But why?" (Harry)
"Because many in the wizarding world don't like 'half-breeds' like Hagrid. Or werewolves, or vampires, centaurs, and many others that are 'lesser beings' than witches and wizards."
"Where the bloody hell did you come from?" (Ron)
"Lousiana."
"You know what I meant." (Ron)
"Upstairs. Couldn't sleep. Sorry didn't mean to startle you or walk in on your conversation. Don't worry though, I already knew Hagrid was half giant. His secret is safe with me."
"Why couldn't you sleep? You look like you need it." (Harry)
"Gee thanks Harry, that's a nice way of saying I look bad. Nightmares woke me up."
"Oh, well I guess we better get to bed. You alright down here by yourself?"
"Yes Ron, I'll be fine. Y'all go to bed and don't worry about Hagrid. He'll be fine."
