CHAPTER 36
K POV:

Sometimes I think I jinx myself far too often. As great as things were just a few weeks ago, they seem to be going downhill just as fast. Easter was a disaster, with Mrs. Weasley still angry at George, and Hermione as well, all because of that stupid Skeeter woman. Unfortunately that wasn't the end of the drama from these past few days. The champions all found out what they were dealing with for the final task the other night, it's a maze.

The only thing is, after they saw it Viktor wanted to talk to Harry about Hermione, even though I tried telling him that they had never dated before but he wanted Harry's guarantee. Boys, I swear. Mr. Couch had stumbled out of the forest from behind them and walked up on Harry and Vik. Harry went to get Dumbledore, Vik got attacked by Crouch supposedly, and needless to say Karkaroff was not very pleased.

Dumbledore asked me to come down and literally sniff around after everyone else was gone, but I couldn't be of much use. By that point there were too many other scents mingling with Crouch's, Vik's, and Harry's. The tension from that was built because of that night can still be felt in the air today and honestly I'll be happy when the tournament is over. My best friend was attacked by someone most likely bewitched while the other has had a target on his back since school started when his name was entered into this stupid tournament.

I'm also worried about Fred and George being up to something they really shouldn't be. George told me not to worry about it, but it's hard not too when I can overhear their whispers about blackmailing someone. I swear between that and the overall heaviness in the air it's all I can do not to scream at the younger students for making noise in the common room while I'm trying to study. Finals are this week, as well as the third task and I will breathe much easier once this is all over with.

I refocus my thoughts on my Ancient Runes notes and try to memorize all the different symbols for the word power, but honestly there are simply too many for me to even attempt. I hope I can get partial credit on that question if it pops up tomorrow. I feel someone walk up to me and sit down, nudging my shoulder as they do. I feel myself vamp out as I'm pulled from my concentration and snap at them before looking up and seeing who it is.

"What."

"Woah, Georgie look like you messed up for her to be that snappy." (F)

"Kitty, what's wrong?" (G)

"I'm sorry, it's not you. I have Ancient Runes tomorrow as well as our potions final."

"I'm sorry love. We'll leave you to study. Though we all know you'll pass with flying colors."

They both stand back up with Fred kissing my cheek and George giving me a quick peck on the lips before they disappear upstairs to study for our potions final, or at least I'm assuming that's what they're doing. With the twins, you can never really be sure. I spend a few more hours in the common room basically cramming for my last two exams tomorrow before finally calling it quits. If I make well I guess I make well, if not well I'll think about that tomorrow I suppose.

***************************** (The next day, mid-day)

"Well love, feel any better now that one exam is over?"

"Not really. Potions was my easy one for today, I still have Ancient Runes after lunch."

"Mental your girlfriend. I'm telling yah." (R)

"It only makes me love her more." (G)

"Oi, mum and Bill's here!" (R)

"What?" (K)

I stopped just inside the doors of the Great Hall as I watch Ron run up to a guy with an earring in his ear, that looks a few years older than Fred and George. Next to him is an older, shorter woman with a kind smile on her face as she gives Ron a brief hug. I feel my blood freeze just as I feel George squeeze my hand and I turn to look at him as Fred comes up and takes my other hand.
