The Unexpected Love

Tonight I'm Drowning

It was finally the morning, even though i didn't sleep at all.

Once everyone was up we all went back to the hospital. Niall went to spend the day with his family and to play a bit of golf. My mum and Harry came with me to the hospital.

"Daddy" I said as i ran up to him and hugged him. He was still alive, just about. He was very weak.

"Sweetheart" He replied as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Ill go get us some drinks" My mum said as she left to get drinks.

"Harry, nice to see you again" My dad said as he gave out his hand.

"Nice to see you again too Sir" Harry said as he took my dads hand and shook it.

We were interrupted by the nurse, coming to do some tests on my dad.

"Paul, your tests results aren't very good today, just rest. Try not to move too much" The nurse said as she took his temperature, blood pressure and heart rate.  

"Okay" My dad just about managed to get out.

I moved my chair to the side of his bed and clutched onto his hand. 

"I'm dying sweetie and i don't want you to be here when i do" My dad said as he let out a few tears.

"But i don't want to leave you" I said, a few tears rolled down my face.

"I have to go and when i do, i want you to be happy" He said, looking straight into my eyes.

I looked over to Harry who had a few tears of his own rolling down his face.

"Anyway, you have Harry, Niall and your mum to look after you" My dad tried to joke but it just made him cough. 

"Easy dad" I said as i gave him some water to help clear his throat. 

My mum came back and gave me a drink.

"Harry, why don't we give them some privacy" My mum said as she opened the room door.

"Sure, be back soon" Harry said as he kissed my head before leaving the room.

I had now been sat with my dad for an hour and i could tell he was getting worse. He was coughing more and when he coughed, blood came out. 

"Daddy" I said as i looked at him struggling to breath.

"This is it, i can tell" My dad managed to say between gasping for air.

"I love you" I said, my tears were falling uncontrollably. 

"I love you more my princess, i will look down on you and protect you, im proud of you" He said before closing his eyes.

"Daddy no, don't go, you can't. Not yet" I said as i tried to wake him up.

"DADDY" I screamed, nudging him to wake up. 

His heart beat monitor went straight and made a continuous beeping sound.

I held his hand tight and i just cried. 

He was gone. 

My mum and Harry came back into the room and my mum rushed to my dads side.

My mum was crying, she grabbed my dads hand and just cried.

I looked over to Harry, who was in shock. He ran straight to me and held me tight. I cried in Harry's arms and he protected me.

"I'm so sorry" Is all Harry could get out. He was in shock. 

He rocked me in his arms while i cried, i was still holding my dads hand.

We had been back at our hotel now for an hour before Niall finally returned.

"Hows your dad" He said, with a smile on his face. He obviously had a good day.

I looked at Harry and then looked out the window. My mum was asleep. 

"He's gone" I said as i stared out the window, looking out at the distance. 

"No" Niall said, shocked. He ran straight over to me and hugged me. He held me tight.

As soon as i felt Niall's hug, i bursted into tears. Niall rested his head on my head, brushing his fingers through my hair and he kissed my forehead.

"Lea im so sorry" He said, still holding me close.

I was so close to Niall i could hear his heart beating through his jumper.

I wiped my tears away and i laid on the sofa with Harry and Niall.

"So what happens now?" Harry asked, looking at Niall.

"I don't know" Niall said.

"This is what happens; you both go back to London, finish the tour and get on with your lives" I said as i held both of their hands.

"And what about you?" Harry asked in a soft voice.

"Me? don't worry about me, i have my dad to protect me" I said, with a smile on my face.

We all went to bed and waited to see what the next day brings us.

I think the hardest part of loosing someone, isn't having to say goodbye, but rather learning how to live without them. Always trying to find the void, the emptiness that's left inside your heart when they go.

Missing you comes in waves. Tonight im drowning.
