Lydia woke up the next morning with a grin similar to the size of when someone sticks an orange in their mouth. Her eyes had an extra twinkle in them, even more than last night. The last time she had that twinkle was probably the last rainy afternoon she spent with her father, before he died. Her smile showed off her pearly white teeth and the sunlight only made them glisten. She changed into black high-waisted shorts, a maroon striped t-shirt, and a pair of boho style cocoa-brown strappy sandals. She then braided her hair in a fishtail and accessorize with a maroon headband. This morning she had an extra bounce in her step, a brighter smile, she was happier than usual.
Lydia practically twirled her way to the kitchen to make breakfast for Victoria and her stepsisters. She flipped pancakes in her left hand, while monitoring Cora's reduced-fat turkey bacon from Canada in the skillet and eggs in her right. Once done, she placed them on each plate for each of the girls and started making Victoria's pancakes, preparing Erica's french toast, and Malia's nonfat yogurt. She set the table along with each of their breakfast platters and placed a container of freshly squeezed orange juice in the middle along with the condiments used for their breakfast.
After their breakfast was prepared Lydia hollered for Victoria and the girls notifying them that breakfast was ready. One by one the hungry and tired girls trotted half asleep down the steps. Each sat at their usual spot at the table with unpleasant and grimace looks on their faces.
"I am so done with everything!" Malia dramatized as she plants her head face down on the table, which scatters strands of her hair into her vanilla yogurt mixed with granola in front of her.
Erica layered the powder sugar on her french toast making it appear like a field of snow entering her mouth. "Agh! I know what you mean," Erica remarked as she sticks one of the pieces of french toast and ate like she never seen food before. "Last night was a total bust!" Erica continued wafting down her breakfast and chewed her food with her mouth open.
Victoria took a seat next to Cora and asked before taking a sip of her pulp-free glass of orange juice, "I thought you girls were going to have a good time at the dance last night? By the way you were planning, it sounded like it was going to be delightfully perfect."
"Delightful? Perfect?" Malia scoffed raising her head off of the table. "Oh please, last night was the complete opposite of delightful and wasn't remotely perfect. Even though I believed and planned it to be perfect the outcome wasn't even close. I was planning to win Stiles back, but then this girl in this ugly green ass curtain showed up. She ruined everything, Mom! She took pretty much all of the attention away from Stiles and I! You should have seen the way he looked at her. When I find out who she was THAT BITCH IS GOING TO PAY!" Malia revealed her exasperation to all of the girls. She slammed her spoon on the table causing it to plummet to the floor and her face turned three shades too red.
"Truuueee... she better watch it," Cora commented with a bit of sass as she went into the kitchen to grab a lemon. She returned to her seat to slurp on the sour fruit, slurping the flavor out of it since it is believed to abolish acne.
Lydia just sat on one of the bar stools near the table and bit into her apple, keeping to herself, and her daydream look never faded. She listened to every word that Malia said that should have insulted her. Malia's words were like bullets, but today it was like Lydia decided to wear a bulletproof vest and nothing that Malia said to let her anger out about the mysterious girl in green affected her negatively. Instead she took it as something positive, a compliment even.
"To me you just sound jealous of this girl," Victoria added only earning a glare from her daughter.
"Here's the thing, Mom. I'm angry since she got Stiles last night and then had the decency to runaway from him. Like who the hell does she think she is! She probably got scared or was to afraid that he would find out that she was a loser that went back home into the sewer system, where that skank belongs. I may not have spoken one word to her, but I can tell you this I can't stand her from a distance so she better look out if this girl decides to be in my presence," Malia explained acting like a ratchet drama queen.
