"Brendon?" I ask as Gerard jumps out of my arms.
"I. . . Yeah, sorry," He mumbles.
"Are you okay?" Josh frowns.
"Fine," Brendon forces a smile.
"We should probably head home now," I say and Gerard nods.
"I. . . Sure," Josh forces a smile.
"This isn't goodbye dufos," I grin, "Write your numbers down and we'll stay in touch. That's a promise."
So they do and Brendon takes them before leading Gerard out ,and I follow behind them, to the car.
What happened? Gerard asks Brendon.
"We made progress. I'm actually talking to him now. It's his birthday today." Brendon smiles sadly.

"I can't touch him, hold him in my arms. . ." Brendon sighs, "I long to run my fingers through his thick and shiny hair."
"I think it might be because he isn't 18 yet." I say finally.
How do you know?
"Gee, it's Patrick. He's probably read it in a book somewhere." Brendon cracks a whole hearted smile this time.
True, why'd I ask?
"I am here, assholes!" I laugh.
WAIT! Did Patrick just swear?!
"I think he did," Brendon nods, "Look! The world's ending"
"Duck you guys! Duck you both!" I pout.
"Duck you! Oh my god Patrick! of all things!" Brendon's laughing now so hard he's crying.
"What? Ducks are cute" I grin.
Ducks are cute?
"Let's just end this argument" I roll my eyes behind my blindfold.
Brendon, why is Patrick driving?
"For the thrill of being alive" Brendon whispers loud enough for me to hear. . .
