In The Dragon's Lair

Going back to bed

DARK RIDERS' POV.... PRESENT
I close the book, and look at the sleeping Lilly with her head on the table.
I put the book back, locking the cover up.
I slid a key into the librarians' desk, and pick up Lilly.
Luna warbles, "Wanna go flying?"
I nod, and stick Lilly back in her bed and shut the door.
I ran out to Luna, and hopped on.
We fly over the campus , wind in my hair.
I see the magic that will forever protect these grounds, and it's gentle shimmer.
I reach out and my fingers brush a tree branch.
I see a building in ruins, and fly over.
Max said he'd repaired it all.
I see bits of twirled  metal and bent wood.
I ask Luna, "What place was this?"
She warbles, "The Unkown Classrooms and the stables."
I smile, realizing why it's in ruins.
He wanted to make sure nobody could redivide the school.
I try putting a piece of brick on another, and they both explode.
Aha! He made it permanently ruined, as a reminder and a lesson.
I spread my wings, and catch up to Luna.
Soon, a small cheep cathes my ear.
I swoop down, and see a pack of wild Unknown dragons skimming the trees.
We join them, and fly all night.
The beautiful night sky is blueish black, with tiny white specks.
I stare at the big white orb that currently sat just in front of us.
Then, the dragons whooped, and disappeared.
Luna warbled goodbye, and we flew back for classes.
I crash on Lunas' back, to get a little sleep before I'm expected to be reasonable and teach kids.
I sigh, and imagine a warm bed waiting for me tomorrow night.
Unless another young student is curious about the book. Then I'll gladly stay up again.

The next night I walk back to the library.
A book falls off the shelf, into my hands.

It reads, "Serpentine Stables by Phoeinx, Oliver, and Amythest".
That last two names are stroked out, and changed to "Max, and Violet."

I open it, and begin to read.

As I flip to the last part, the room goes black.
Phoenix whispers, his eyes glowing green, "I see you found the book. No one was supposed to find it. We worked very hard to hide that from our students. It would be very bad if someone we don't trust found this."
I think back to some strange events of my pass.
All the times I got called something beside my name by him.
The fake shock on everyones' face when Phoenix announced the wedding of Dargo and him.
Then, I get a flash of an image.
A stranger in a fedora and a trench coat who looks like Phoenix.
