Chapter 21

Datescxz

"Ready?" His eyes sparkled while uttering the word.

"No choice." I said.

"Let's go!" Yaya niya tska niya ako hinila palabas.

Ngayong gabi yung date na sinasabi ni Thunder. Di na ako nagcorporate dahil balak ko deretso na. Hindi naman ako pagpapawisan at babaho sa office ko.

Isang sleeveless dress ang suot ko na matatakpan hanggang tuhod ko. Blue na may abstract design.  Tas heels.

Kahit naka 3-inch heels na ang suot ko ay di ko pa  rin naabot ang baba ni Thunder. He's damn tall!

7pm ang usapan namin pero nagulat nalang ako na 3:00pm palang andito na siya. Dahilan niya? Dahil daw sa datessssss ko. Oh well, wala naman akong magagawa. Sana lang di ako maginh exhausted kapag nasa huling date nako.

Thunder drove me to a restau near my shop at maganda ang ambiance ng restaurant. Romantic at may instumental musics ng live.

Thunder suggested na light lang ang lagi kong orderin para di obvious na madami daw kami.

Nagretouch ako habang papunta ng restau.

"Gabriel Manalili. 25 years old. 5'11"."

"Okay. And the dress?"

"Navy blue long sleeves. Faded jeans. Top sider shoes"

And that's all. Kapag may sini-set siyang date saakin. Bibigyan lang niya ako basic informations about the guy and bahala na ako sa ibang info's.

After 15mins of travel. Nakarating na kami.

"Dito na tayo. One and a half hours is enough. Now go. Goodluck!" He waved goodbye and I jump out of his car.

I saw a man sitting at corner wearing the exact info.

"Uhm... uh.. Gabriel?" Tanong ko nanatiling nakatayo.

"Uh yes. So you must be Kirsten?" Tumayo sya at naglahad ng kamay. tinanguan ko lamang siya. "Have a seat." Pinaghila niya ako ng upuan tska sya bumalik sa pwesto niya.

The waiter handed us the menu and I asked him. "Anong gusto mo?" I looked at him he looked puzzled.

"Uhm you know, I grew up in US and I just arrived here 3weeks ago. Uhm, of you know what I mean" tska sya ngumiti.

What the hell, Thunder. Isang basket lang ng ingles ang baon ko!!

"Uh. Alright. So? What's your order? I'll take what's yours." I smiled.

Madaling makasundo si Gab kahit na naubos ang dala kong ingles sakanya.

Nagkwentuhan lang kami hanggang sa marinig kong nagring ang phone ko.  I immediately snatch my phone out of my pouch and excused myself from the table.

"Time's up girlfriend. Let's go!" wala man lang hello hello ang lalaking to..

"Oo. Hello, Thunder!" I sarcastically said while rolling my eyes heavenward. as if he's seeing me now.

he chuckled from the other line and said. "hahaha. I can almost imagine your eyes from here, girlfriend!!"

"Well I am, mister! di mo manlang nasabi na inglesero pala to. di ako nakapagbaon!" we both chuckled in my retort.

"Sorry naman. Dami kasi nakaset ngayon. Kaya malay ko bang siya pala yung Amerikanong hilaw? hahahaha"

"I'm rolling my again just so you know." I joked. "Sige na- Sunduin mo na ako. magpapaalam nalang ako sa 'kadate' ko." i said emphasizing the word 'kadate'.

"Okay okay I'll hung up now." without my answer he hung up. Bastos!

Nagbalik na ako sa loob para magpaalam.

"Uhm, Gabrielle. I'm sorry but I need to go. My kuya called and we have an emergency. I'm sorry." Pagpapaalam ko sakanya. What an artist, Kirsten.

"Oh okay. Do you need a ride?" He offered.

"Oh no, Thanks. My kuya will fetch me anyway." sabi ko sabay iling iling pa.

"okay. If you need companion. You know how to contact me right?" I nodded and headed outside the restau. Agad ko rin namang nakita ang kotse ni Thunder sa harap.

We went to another restau where my other 'date' is waiting for me.

Di rin ako nagtagal dun. Agad din kaming umalis ni Thunder and to sum it all up. I had 5 dates. And I got too exhausted when we're done.

"Ganto ba ka-big deal ang lovelife ko sayo?" I asked him burying my face his car's dashboard.

He let out a laugh and say "50-50, girlfriend. Ayokong mapag iwanan ka lalo na't engaged na kami  ni Alexa. MAid of honor ka pa naman. you should have your date on our wedding." He said proudly.

Okay.....

Buffering...

"Engaged na kayo?!" tila nabuhayan ang diwa ko sa sinabi niya.

"Hahahaha. nag sink in din sayo sa wakas!"

"woah! Goodluck bru! Kelan kasal?" Excited kong tanong.

"Wala pa. Pero gusto niya maging June bride."

"Well, it's not odd."

"uh-huh. But one more thing. Marcus Elle will be attending too. He'll be Alexa's cousin's date."

"Cousin? who?"

"I don't know. All I know is she's from abroad and a model there."

From abroad? And a model? Hindi kaya si...

"Is she Stephanie?"

"Hmm. I don't think so. I don't know her name. Why?"

"Nothing." Gusto ko sanang magkwento but I'm too exhausted to tell a story.

He just nodded as a response.

We're like parallel lines, Elle. We're always close but will never intersect.
