(XXXII) Why even try anymore?

Kailyn's POV

Darkness consumed me. I soon became aware that I was alive. I became aware of my own breathing and the voices of people around me. Olidia, Emily and Lily they were all here. Soon the pieces were put together.

I was with Emily when I was kidnapped and it sounded like Olidia and Lily were too. My eyes slowly opened adjusting to the low lamp light.

I was in a chair next to Lily. Olidia and Emily were in the corner tied to a pole. Why? is all I could ask myself. I've never done anything to this person. Why does he have to come in and ruin everything I have worked for.

I turned to see Lily's face expression. She was scared, beyond scared and it pained me to see her like that.

Lily started talking "Kailyn its happened. I thought everything was going to be okay I'm sorry we should've told someone I thought keeping it a secret would be the be-" I cut her off

"Lily it's not your fault okay. We just need to get out of here" I stopped my speech because I heard footsteps.

With each footstep more and more fear crawled in the bottom of my stomach. The door opened and there he was. About 38 years old, his structure towered over all of us

He smiled when he saw all of our eyes on him. "Well well looks like you are all awake now."

"Dad stop just let us go!" Olidia screamed.

"No no can't have that " The man responded

I glanced at Emily. Tears wouldn't stop flooding her eyes. I know her I know her story and what she has been through, it's not right for her to have to go through this again. She was shaking.

He looked directly in my eyes. " Kailyn you are the one I have been looking for since you were little, now that you are here we can all have some fun"

Tears brimmed my eyes as I thought of Kellin and how much I wanted him here to save me and tell me things would be alright. I wanted to hug him and tell him how much I love him, But now I don't know if I would ever see him again.

Kellin's POV

They should be back by now I thought as I pulled into a parking space in front of her apartment.

"I've come to retrieve Emily" I laughed as I knocked on the door. I heard feet shuffling and the door opened revealing Sam.

"Hey Sam are the girls back?"

She didn't reply and I took a second look at her. Red puffiness rimmed her eyes like she had been crying. She had bags under her eyes as if she had been working all night.

"Sam what's wrong?" I asked. This only made her burst into another round of tears and launch into my arms.

"KELLIN THEY ARE GONE. GONE."

"Wait what?"

"Emily, Lily, Olidia, and Kailyn they are all gone without a trace except this letter I found on the side table."

"Sam please tell me your joking" I asked hoping that this bottomless pit that is forming in my stomach was just hunger.

"I- I left Olidia and Lily here to go on my date with Jesse. I come back to see no one home. I called all their phones about 100 times each. No one is answering then I find this note. Kellin he or whoever it was took them I don't know where to go, what to do"

I couldn't help her. I was too busy spiraling downwards into my own pit of sorrow. I just got them back to have them ripped out of my life again.

I slowly move to the couch and sat down still not saying anything and just sat there.
