Emily's POV
Kellin looked at me as we were parked in front of my house. "Kellin do I have to?" I asked hoping he would just let me live with him so I would never have to go back to this fake family ever again. I wanted my brother to be there all the time, I also wanted Kailyn to be there we have made a very close bond and knowing the situation that just happened my 'mom' is never going to let me go with them again, even though I doubt she hardly missed me.
I know no one at my school misses me, I know everyone was probably glad I was gone.
My mind drifted to why I even was with them in the first place. I was at a party with Derek where I got drunk came home got kicked out and then went to my brothers. Maybe Derek misses me my mind silently hoped.
"Emily" Kellin said shaking my shoulder slightly.
"Huh what?" I asked
"You've been staring into space for like the past 3 minutes" He said half smiling "Are you okay?"
"No Kellin I'm not I want to stay there with you and Kailyn and I want to be in an environment where someone actually gives 2 shits about my life but that looks like it's never going to happen is it?!" I half yelled in his face.
His eyes softened "Emily you know I wish I could have you living with me you know how much I would love to take you out of that shit home but I can't she has custody of you and controls where you can go, it makes me mad too Emily. Especially when you have to be called Ashley when it's not even your name." He said calmly
"Isn't there a way?" I asked hoping there was.
"The only way is when you turn 18, When you do I'll be here"
"That is almost a year away Kellin. I don't know if I can make it that long here I just don't know."
" You can do it Emily, just make it through the rest if the school year." He said trying to give me some hope.
"I'll try" I said opening my door. "Bye Kellin"
I shut my door and turned towards the house. I slowly walked down the pathway dreading the second I opened that door.
Before I did I looked back smiled, and waved at Kellin. I took a deep breath and turned the knob.
I walked through and shut the door behind me. I looked around the dull home. Fake family pictures we just had to take so my mom could show off her 'picture perfect family'
I sighed as I trudged up the stairs to my room. I couldn't help but think maybe they won't even notice I'm back.
"ASHLEY!!!"
wrong.
My mom screeched my name piercing my ears. I sighed and turned around in my place. I started my way back down the stairs.
When I got to the bottom I saw a very pissed off looking mom. "Hi" I said hoping she would just let me go to my room.
"How dare you?" she seethed.
"What?" I questioned just wanting this to be over.
"Oh wouldn't you like to know!"
"Yes, actually I would so I can be done with this conversation."
"Oh" she chuckled "You have some nerve coming back now"
"What you told me to come back when I'm not drunk!" I yelled in her face.
It took you 2 weeks to sober up. What were you doing huh? Getting drunk the whole time. Fucking dudes left and right? Huh you pregnant now? Or what did you start on drugs! What the fuck have you been doing!" She yelled at me.
