The Match And The Waterbender's Fears

Even though Aang was able to make up with Hermione, it seemed as though Ron's friendship with her was completely destroyed. He was enraged that she never took his fears for Scabbers seriously and was still trying to pretend Crookshanks was innocent by telling Ron to look under the beds. Hermione maintained fiercly hat Ron had no proof, and that the hairs must have been there since Christmas. The gaang had no idea who to believe. Harry, however, thought Crookshanks did eat Scabbers.

"Side with Ron, then!" Hermione exclaimed, when Harry told her his beliefs. "Everything's my fault, isn't it! Just leave me alone!" Harry did just that, as Aang approached. "Before I say anything, I'm just going to say I'm not taking anyone's side. But, Hermione, Crookshanks could have eaten Scabbers." "You leave me alone, too" said Hermione. "Make up with Katara, I don't care. Just go!" Aang didn't object.

Ron was very down after the loss of Scabbers. "Come on, Ron" said Fred. "He's been off-color for ages, he was wasting away. It was one swallow-probably didn't feel a thing." "All he did was eat and sleep, you said it yourself" added George. "He bit Goyle once" said Ron. "His finest hours" said Fred. "Let the scar on Goyle's finger stand as a lasting tribute to him." "Ron" said Sokka. "Can't you just, you know...get a new rat?" "Sokka!"exclaimed Suki. "What?" asked Ron. "We could get him a lemur."

In an attempt to cheer Ron up, Aang and harry invited the gaang to come to their last Quidditch practice before they would have to face Ravenclaw. This actually seemed to bright Ron up, but as they went down to the pitch, Aang's mood was brought down. He spotted Bao coming too, with Fan, and the Team Avatar Fan Club. Aang quickly rustled everybody inside, before the club approached.

"Hey Aang" said Bao. "I heard you telling the others people could watch this practice. So, I told Fan, and the club sort of showed up." "Yeah, I see that" said Aang, in an annoyed tone. "Great." Fan smiled to him, but he just nodded to her, thinking of what Katara had said.

Madam Hooch, who was overseeing Quidditch practices, was in love with the Firebolt as soon as she'd seen it. "Look at the balnce on it! If the Nimbus brooms have a fault it's the list at the tail end-you often find thatb there's a drag after a few years. The handle's updated as well, slimmer than the Cleansweeps..." "Madam Hooch?" came Wood's voice. "Can Harry have the broom back? We need to practice..." "Right" said Madam Hooch, handing Harry his broom. "I'll sit over there with the others."

Aang looked over at the gaang, and could see Katara looking a little uncomfortable. Aang sent a slight wisp of air at her, which caught her attention. She looked over, and he smiled and nodded to her. A grin appeared on her face, as she nodded to him.

"Harry" said Wood, walking to him. 'I've just found out who is Ravenclaw's seeker. Cho Chang, a fourth year, and she's pretty good...I hoped she wouldn't be fit, she's had problems with injuries...On the other hand, she rides a Comet Two Sixty, which is going to look like a joke next to the Firebolt." He looked at Harry's broom admirably before saying "Okay, everyone, let's go."

Both Harry and Aang mounted their Firebolt's, and at long last they kicked off the ground. It turned with the slightest touch, it seemed to obey their thoughts rather than grip it sped around the field at such a great speed. Aang could hear the Fan Club going wild, and as he sped past the gaang, he caught Katara's eye, and he saw how happy she looked for him.

"Harry, I'm letting the Snitch out!" Wood called, as Aang caught a quaffle Katie through to him, and sent it flying into the goal-post. Harry could see the Snitch a few feet away, and in a few seconds, he caught it with his hand. The team and the gaang cheered, while the Fan Club watched Aang make another goal. Harry let it go, saw it hovering next to Aang's ear, before he sped forward. A girl from the fan club shrieked, but Harry easily snatched the Snitch away from Aang, who grinned at the boy wizard's delight.
