The Vision

Both Harry and Aang, for at least a week after the Quidditch Cup, felt excitement inside them. They couldn't believe that they had actually achieved something they had dreamed of achieving since the very first time they rode on a broom. All they wanted to do was just hang around with their friends, and for Aang, do something he had finally decided to do that very week after the Cup.

However, they couldn't. The Exams were quickly approaching, and they had to start studying. Everyone was forced to remain in the castle and study, and Aang didn't really mind. Even though he was rather good at all subjects, he still wanted to sit around and study for his first exams.

Hermione was the most anxious of the gaang because of how many things she had to study for. They soon saw the exam schedule she had drawn up for herself. "Uh, Hermione?" Sokka asked. "Are you sure you copied these times down right?" "What?" Hermione snapped, snatching the schedule and looking at it. "Yes, I do."

"How are you going to sit for two exams at once?" Katara asked. "Of course I won't be" she said quickly. "Have you seen my cope of Numerology and Grammatica?" "Oh, yeah, I borrowed it for light reading" said Ron, but quietly so only harry heard, who grinned.

Suddenly, there was a tap at the window. Hedwig was there, a note attached to her leg. Harry pulled the window opened, and said "It's from Hagrid. "The appeal's set for the sixth." "Don't we finish exams that day?" asked Sokka, and Katara nodded. "They're coming here to do it" said Harry. "Someone from the Ministry and-and an executioner." Aang looked at the letter, as Katara said "That sounds like they've already made up their mind!" "Yeah...yeah it does" said Aang, his heart dropping. "They can't" Ron said. "I've spent ages making stuff up for him; they can't ignore it."

However, the gaang feared that the Committee would indeed ignore Ron's newly found information. Aang just wished they could go and see Hagrid, to give him support, but there was no chance. Aang couldn't use his wand to go to Hagrid's, and Harry didn't dare retrieve his cloak, which was still tucked behind the one-eyed witch.

Soon, Exam week began, and the stress around the castle was prominent. The gaang's first exam was Transfiguration, which included turning a teapot into a tortoise. Sokka claimed his tortoise had sprouted a tail, Katara's seemed to have water powers, and Toph's teapot sprouted the head of a tortoise, as well as arms and legs, but not the body. Aang didn't want to tell them he had gotten it perfect.

After a hasty lunch, they all went to their Charms exam, and Hermione was right; there were Cheering Charms on the test. Harry overdid his and Ron went into fits of laughter. Katara got it perfect, and it was odd seeing Toph very happy. Aang's, also perfect, and Sokka was very happy indeed. After dinner, the gaang hastily returned to the Common Room's to study for Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, and Astronomy.

During their Care of Magical Creatures exam and all they had to do was keep their flobberworm alive until the hour was up. It was the easiest exam for them all, and Sokka was very upset for spending quite a bit of time studying for it. "Beaky's getting' depressed" Hagrid said, as they went up to him after the exam. "Bin cooped up too long. Still...we'll know day after tomorrow."

That afternoon, they travelled down to the dungeons for Potion, which was a disaster for a few. Sokka seemed as though he would have a mental breakdown, Neville looked like he might cry, and Harry couldn't get his potion to thicken, and Aang saw that Snap may have written a zero on his hand. However, Aang knew he got his potion right, and he saw the look of anger on Snape's face, as he strode away.
