CALUM :
"No, if you were cultivating the organism, it'd have to be under controlled conditions." You said to your friend, who was over to study for your big test coming up in your Aquaculture class. You and her had been trying to answer practice questions all afternoon, while Calum was out with the boys.
Soon, however, the front door banged shut and Calum appeared in the doorway to the living room, where you and your friend were sprawled out across the carpet.
"What's going on? How goes the studying?" He asked, greeting your friend. She gave him a polite smile and a wave, before he turned back to you.
"Crappy." You replied, sighing into your textbook. "Our professor is actually trying to kill us."
Your friend laughed, and Cal chuckled. "Well, I'd offer to help, but I never finished school, so.." He trailed off, not wanting to desert you, but also not wanting to deal with your strange Biology homework.
"Thanks for the offer Cal, but why don't you go play some video games or something? We'll be a while." You told him, knowing he didn't want to stay at all. Calum gently cheered, gave you a quick kiss before retreating to the computer room. "Now," You sighed, "where were we?"
MICHAEL :
Michael had been out at a writing session with the band, which ended up lasting until past midnight. He felt a little better about his late arrival as you hadn't expected him home until later, and that you'd wanted some peace and quiet to study for your upcoming physics exam.
The house was dark when he arrived home, however, except for the kitchen, where he found you asleep in a textbook. Your hair was piled on your head in a ragged bun, and you were wearing nothing but one of his t-shirts and a pair of his favourite boy shorts. Michael couldn't help but giggle at the sight, of the table full of graphs and equations and you nestled in between it all.
Michael left his bag on a chair and put your empty mug in the dishwasher, before gently picking you up bridal style. He carried you to the bedroom, laying you down softly on the mattress. You stirred lightly, rubbing your eye.
"Mikey?" You asked into the dark air, wrapping yourself in the thick blankets.
"I'm right here, baby. Go back to sleep." He soothed softly, climbing into bed beside you, and wrapping a thick arm around your waist.
"Love you, Mikey." You mumbled, the words tangled with sleep.
"Love you too, princess."
