Chapter7 - Concert

I told Liam to have the limo park a few down so Lexi didn't get suspicious.

The ride to the concert seemed to take forever. Traffic was bad and it seemed like everyone was going to the concert. Great. At least I was backstage and didn't have to be surrounded by the fans.

Everyone backstage was nice to me though I had a suspicion that Liam told them about me. It seemed odd that people who were in charge of so important would take the time to be nice to me, an average girl.

The only song I recognized in the entire set was the one that played at the club when Lexi and I first met the four of them. The music was good but not something I would want to listen to on a regular basis.

When they finished, Liam grabbed my hand as they were walking by. He was sweaty and had a towel around his neck.

"What'd you think?" He asked in my ear. The noise, even backstage and walking away from the stage, was loud.

"Better from back."

"I hope it goes away."

I smiled. "I'm glad I came then."

He kissed me, his breath hot against my lips. "I'm all sweaty. I need to go shower. yourself to the food."

I sat down on the couch and glanced around the room. It was a large dressing room though I hadn't ever been in one. There was a vanity table with a large mirror. There was a cart with different outfits on it, shoes lined up underneath it. The coffee table had a stack of magazines and a fruit and vegetable tray. There was also a bathroom just for Liam to use.

How could someone with everything they could ever want end up with me? Karma was really slacking on giving people what they deserved.

I got my phone out of my purse and saw there were seven missed calls from my mother.

I called her and waited for her to pick up. It was only after nine and my curfew wasn't until eleven. I still had plenty of time to stay with Liam.

"Where are you?" My mother asked the second she picked up.

"With a friend."

"You didn't tell me you were going out."

"I'm eighteen and it's summer. I didn't think I needed to."

"I need to know where my children are and so far I only know where one of them is."

"Mom, you're overreacting."

"Mom, that's not fair! My curfew isn't until eleven."

When Liam walked out of the bathroom, I was crying. I couldn't appreciate the fact that he was shirtless and his hair was still wet.

"What's wrong?" He asked, sitting down beside me.

"What? Why?"

"I think Lexi told her I went out with you. I don't know how she found out though; I snuck out."

He took my hand. "It's okay. I'll take you home myself."

"Don't you have to stay and do stuff?" I didn't know concert protocol but I assumed the group had meetings or things to discuss. I didn't expect him to have private time like this.

"It can wait."

"I'm sorry about this."

"Don't be." He said, kissing the of my head.

"I'm sorry about this, Liam. Really." I said, staring at my house. Lexi was sitting on the porch and I knew she was smiling even though I couldn't see it.

"You don't have to apologize, Olivia."

"And give your sister what she wants? I don't think so." He turned my face toward him.

"Liam-"

He kissed me. "I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

I hugged him, biting my lip to stop from crying.

He kissed me once more before letting me go.

When I reached the porch, and my sister, the limo drove away.

"I find it funny that you went out with Liam on the same night they had a concert in town." Lexi said.

"So?"

"Mom wouldn't approve. You should have known that."

"I don't care what mom thinks."

"What are you talking about, Lexi?" I was getting irritated with her. She was trying to get me in trouble so mom would make me dump Liam. I wasn't going to. Especially if Lexi wanted me to.

"Mom and dad work hard to make all of us good. And you dating a celebrity and being in tabloids will make us look bad. All of us. Understand? It'd be selfish of you to be in the public eye like you are."

She narrowed her eyes at me. "Don't try to switch this around-"

"It's true though, right? Because you'd be getting your way and mom would have no reason to intervene."

"You're being a huge bitch right now. Do you know that?"

"It takes one to know one, sis." I walked around her and went into the house.

"Why didn't you tell me where you were going?" Mom asked, the second I walked past the living room.

I stopped and stayed where she couldn't see my facial expressions. Because I was mad and annoyed and anything but happy. "You were having a party tonight and I didn't think you'd notice my absence."

"If it inconveniences you, you would."

"I'm sick and tired of your attitude, Olivia. All I ask from you and your sister is to know where you are. At all times. I don't like worrying and wondering what happened to you."

"But you don't."

"Go to your room. You're grounded. Leave this house without my permission and I'm shutting your phone off."

I rolled my eyes and went upstairs without another word. Because I'd either say something I'd regret or say something too harsh for anyone to hear.
