everyone told her to stop; they told her it wasn't good for her. they told her it was a horrible habit, a self-destructive tendency. they told her she would have scars. they told her never to hurt herself like that, never to cut. they told her to fight to be clean. but that was the only way she could justify her life. that was her only relief. so she found something else. she stopped slicing her wrists and started filling her lungs with smoke and her liver with alcohol. and that seemed to satisfy her mind.
