I still laid next to Farris, imagining his emerald green eyes staring back at me. I don't know why I wanted him. I don't know why I chose him, of all people to help me through last night.
"What is it that you do to me?" I asked, not expecting him to hear. A smile crossed his lips, and his eyes slid open.
"What was that?" He lifted his head to look at me.
"What? Nothing," I lied and looked away.
"Nothing huh? I heard you ask 'what is it that you do to me?' Is that correct?"
"Uh. No. I mean, what?"
"I did hear correctly, didn't I?"
"N-. Who am I kidding. Yes. Word for word."
"I put a trance over you because I am the very best wizard of Pennsylvania."
"Funny. If you were the very best wizard, you would have had me the moment we met."
"Awe but Cameira I have. Your eyes have dilated every time you look at me since day 1."
"Can you tell me what that means now?"
"Hmm. Do you trust me?"
"What?"
"Do you trust me?"
"Depends what you mean."
"Do you trust me in a way that I would never hurt you?"
"Yes, I trust you."
He leaned in towards me, "I thought you would say no," he put a hand on my cheek and pulled me closer, "A persons eyes dilate when they look at someone they love."
I was silent. I barely know him, how could that be true? I don't even remember what love feels like, how could I possib-.
"Stop overthinking. I know that you're overthinking what I just told you," he cut through my thoughts.
"You're right. I was, maybe I should cut down on that."
I didn't even notice how close our faces were until I noticed his breath. I wanted to close the gap, so for once, I gave into myself.
I quickly pulled away, looked into his emerald green eyes that were drowning in shock. A smirk soon covered his lips and he closed the gap this time. He leaned back onto the bed, with me on top.
My lungs screamed for air so I granted them that wish. I breathed like I'd never have air again before leaning in again.
There was a knock on the door that went unheard and ignored. The door was pushed open and a confused sound was heard. Only then did we stop. We looked up to see a woman we both knew well.
"What do you want, Capri?" I asked, annoyance heavily lacing my voice.
"I just wanted to talk. You know, like friends," she weakly smiled.
"After what you did to Kai, you want to talk like we're friends? You're a complete idiot, aren't you? Can't you see? I want absolutely nothing to do with you," I nearly shouted, causing the green eyed boy still beneath me to wince.
I moved off of Farris and walked towards the tear stained girl, "I feel bad enough. I just. I just wanted comfort, I guess."
"Comfort? You should have thought about that before you, oh I don't know, cheated?!"
