A/N
I mentioned that my friends (AlexGregory9 kayleewest21 and AudreyHarper4 ) and I would be getting matching Twenty One Pilots stick 'n poke tattoos in an author's note of Out Of My Mind and we finally got them done! Audrey was the one to do them and she did an amazing job. I read Joshler fanfiction out loud while getting mine done to distract me from any pain lol

I led our group to one of the many fire pits, looking back every once in a while to make sure we had everyone. Josh was at the back of our group , but I was still nervous. I had never really been given this much responsibility. I stopped when we got to our designated area.
We all sat down on the logs around the empty pit in the middle. While Josh worked on lighting the fire, I passed out sticks and marshmallows to the boys. By the time I was back to my seat, the fire was started. The heat radiated slowly from the flames as they grew. Josh sat down beside me.
"Okay, you guys should be good to start," Josh said.
"Be careful!" I added, quickly. Josh laughed at how protective I was being.
Soon, Lucas walked over to me with his marshmallow held out, proudly. I smiled before sliding it off of the stick and placing in on the graham crackers. I broke off a peice of chocolate and added it before placing it in his hands.
"Thank you," he said as he took a bite. I grabbed another graham cracker for the next kid.
Once every kid had had a s'more, I grabbed a stick and handed it to Josh. He stood up and began roasting his marshmallow. I sat and watched how his face seemed to look even prettier in the glow of the flames.
"Do you guys know any scary stories?" Kyle asked. I pulled my focus from Josh and to the kids. They looked around at each other, waiting for someone to speak up.
"I've got one," Matt said. "And this one is real."
"Yeah, right," Jordan scoffed. Josh sat back down and began making his s'more.
"10 years ago, a group of kids from this camp were at a fire, just like this one, when one of the kids went missing." I knew it was just a story, but I looked around and made sure that we still had everyone. "He wandered off while the other kids were busy talking and eating. When they did realize, they told the camp director and split into groups to find them. They walked through the woods for hours before one group decided to check by the lake. When they got to the shore, they could make out the silhouette of someone on the dock. They called the kid's name but he didn't answer. The counselor walked closer to the kid, and saw that he was staring down at the water. When the counselor looked, he screamed and pulled the kid away." He paused and we all sat in suspense.
"And? What did he see?" Kyle asked. Matt smiled mischievously before continuing.
"A dead body." I felt a chill spread throughout my body. "They ran back to tell the other groups what happened, but got lost on the way. Everyone from the group made it back to the cabins except for the one kid who had originally wandered away. Legend has it, he's still wandering in the woods, looking for someone to help him get back."
"That's bullshit!" Jordan shouted.
"Language!" I said back.
"It's just a story," he continued, ignoring me.
"It's totally real, dude." Jordan just rolled his eyes at Matt and Matt did the same. Out of the silence, I heard a twig snap. I looked towards the sound curiously. When I didn't see anything, I figured that I had just imagined it because of the story.
"Did you hear that?" Josh asked. I looked at him, surprised.
"You heard it, too?" We turned slowly back towards the source of the sound. The bushes rustled and I scooted closer to Josh. Another twig snapped and I flinched again. The kids began noticing it, too. Suddenly, we heard screams as people jumped out from behind the trees. We all screamed back and I clung onto Josh, burying my face into his shoulder. The screams were then followed by laughter. I pulled my head up slowly and narrowed my eyes at who had scared us.
Standing and laughing hysterically were Brendon, Dallon, and their campers. I felt anger rise in me and I stood up. Josh placed a hand on my arm and I looked back at him. He was pleading with me with his eyes.
"Aw, come on, Ty. It was just a joke," Brendon said, catching his breath.
"Come on, guys," I said, beginning to pick up our stuff. They all shot dirty looks at Brendon's group before following me back to the cabins. I turned back to make sure we had everyone and saw that Josh was talking to Brendon. I stopped walking and waited for them to finish. Josh jogged to where we were and we went back.
