"Josh, just let me talk!" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at the sound of Brendon's voice. I turned away from where the kids were making crafts and scanned the treeline. I saw Josh sitting on a bench while Brendon stood facing him, his arms crossed over his chest. Josh said something in response and got up and followed Brendon into the woods.

"Tyler?" I forced my attention back to the kids. Kyle was standing in front of me holding his lanyard. "I think I messed up." I looked down at his craft and saw it was knotted and twisted up. I took it from his hands and walked him back to the picnic table where the other kids were.

"It's not too bad. It should be an easy fix," I said, sitting down next to him. I began to carefully untie the strings. I tried to keep my focus on the simple task but my gaze was drawn to the forest. I didn't like the idea of Josh being alone with Brendon. Once I fixed his problem, I handed it back to him and walked over to Hayley, who's group was also doing crafts. Ashley was consoling a little girl in the corner.

"Hey, Tiller!" she said excitedly. The name had come when Pete accidentally misspoke. She was the only person who hadn't let it go yet.

"Hey," I responded, looking off at the trees.

"What's wrong?" She turned to look, too.

"Um, Josh went off with Brendon. I'm kind of worried because they aren't exactly on the best of terms." Hayley nodded her head.

"Go," she said and smiled. "I know you like him, Tyler. Go and make sure he's okay. I'll watch your kids."

"Thanks," I said. I hugged her tight and walked in the direction that they went. I walked down the path in a worried silence.

"How many times do I have to apologize?" I stopped in my tracks.

"An apology can't fix what you did, Brendon." I glanced around me and strained my eyes to see them. I spotted two figures standing in a clearing a few feet ahead of me.

"Then what can I do?" Brendon took a step closer to Josh. I watched as he brought his hands to Josh's shoulders.

Don't do it.

Brendon pulled Josh into a kiss. I felt my heart stop and clenched my fists. I continued walking towards them. They heard me and Brendon pulled away quickly. I reached where they were and they both stared at me. Josh looked confused and Brendon looked angry.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Brendon asked. I usually would've flinched at his force but I was too worked up.

"I didn't see Josh anywhere and I got worried. I came looking for him." My voice came out shaky, but I pretended not to notice. I looked at Josh out of the corner of my eye and saw that he was staring at Brendon.

"Whatever," Brendon spat. "You found the fag." As the word left his lips, I felt my anger rise. Brendon began to walk away.

"Don't call him that," I said back. He turned around and got in my face.

"Don't call him what? A faggot?" I stood stagnant and he laughed. "How about you make me, Princess." He shoved me backwards. I looked down and away from him. "That's what I thought," he laughed. He rolled his eyes before walking down the path back to camp. I let out a breath I didn't know that I had been holding and ran a hand through my hair.

"Thanks," Josh said quietly. I turned around to face him and gave him a small smile.

"Of course." We stood silent until I finally thought of something to say. "Are you okay?"

"Yea. I think so." I nodded my head.

"We should head back," I said, turning to leave. I began walking and heard him following behind me.

"Did you see?" Josh asked. I didn't answer for a moment. I didn't want to say yes, but Josh would know if I lied to him.

"Yea."

"I didn't kiss him back."

"Okay." I didn't know why Josh told me that, but I was glad he had. I felt myself relax a bit. I didn't want Brendon to kiss Josh. I wanted to kiss Josh.

Then do it, you idiot.

We reached the pavilion where our group was and I walked over to Hayley. I thanked her and she gave me a hug before walking over to Ashley. I walked around to see everyone's lanyards and praised them all for doing a good job.

"Alright, it's lunch time!" The kids shouted in excitement and took off towards the cafeteria. Once I knew that each of them made it inside, I began to clean up the mess they made. I had a handful of string and Josh walked up to me, holding open a garbage bag. "Thanks," I said, dropping the scraps into the bag. I brushed off my hands and wiped them on my shorts. Josh tied up the bag and tossed it into a nearby trash bin.

"You ready to go eat?" he asked.

"Lead the way." He smiled that perfect smile and walked ahead of me.
