Chapter Sixteen

Surprises

~5 Months Later With Kagome~

     "Push! You can do it, Kagome! Do it for the pup!" Akiko yelled as Kagome pushed even harder than before. "His head is out! Keep pushing!" Akiko ordered as Kagome yelled in pain. "He's out. What would you like to name him?" Akiko asked as she cleaned the pup.

     "I'd like to name him Takeshi because one day I believe he will surpass his father in power." Kagome answered in between labored breaths.

     "Would you like me to call Sesshomaru in?" Akiko asked as she saw Kagome yell in pain.

     "I don't think it's over yet, Akiko." Kagome said as she once again yelled in pain.

     "Twins?!" Akiko thought aloud as she beckoned a servant forward and told her instructions while she handed Takeshi over.

      "Push!" Akiko yelled once more as she resumed helping Kagome. "It's a girl." Akiko said as she held the little girl in her arms. "What would you like to name her?" Akiko asked as she sang a lullaby to the crying child.

     "I'd like to name her Kazumi. She will be beauty incarnate." Kagome said as she got in a comfortable position. "Call Sesshomaru in please." Kagome said as she relaxed even more.

     "Of course." Akiko said as she beckoned another servant over and handed Kazumi along with more instructions.

     "Mate, how are you feeling?" Sesshomaru asked as he entered the room with Rin.

     "Tired." Kagome responded.

     "Mother, where is he?" Rin asked as she looked around.

     "They are in the infirmary being taken care of. We had twins." Kagome answered as she reached out for Sesshomaru.

     "Mate, you have amazed me once more. Usually demonesses pass out after twins and you're human, you are still awake." Sesshomaru stated as he kissed her forehead.

     "After all this can we please visit Kaede's village? The children will stay here, but I need to continue my journey for the jewel." Kagome asked as she looked at Sesshomaru.

     "You will continue your mission, only this time I will accompany you. We will go when you are feeling up to it." Sesshomaru answered as he kissed her hand. "For now, rest."

~With Inuyasha~

     "It's been 5 months now and I haven't found Kagome! She must be in the west somewhere!" Inuyasha yelled as he kept running and sniffing. "Dumb woman! I could've given her so much of my love but she chose my brother! Gold digger!" He thought as he kept running and running.

~A Couple Days Later With Kagome~

     "Sesshomaru! I'm ready." Kagome said as she grabbed her yellow backpack. "Just like old times." She thought with a fond smile.

     "Mate, hold on." Sesshomaru told her as he hugged her and flew. When they arrived all the villagers greeted Kagome, but everyone was afraid of Sesshomaru so they didn't greet him.

     "How does it feel like to be feared?" Kagome asked as she glanced at him.

     "It makes you feel powerful." Sesshomaru said calmly, keeping his face of indifference.

     "I hate it when he does that now." Kagome thought as she looked at Kaede's hut in the distance.

     "Are you ready, mate?" Sesshomaru asked her as he looked forward.

     "I'm ready." Kagome answered as she grabbed his hand and walked to the hut. "Hi, you guys!" Kagome exclaimed as she waved at everybody. She forgot she was still holding Sesshomaru's hand and he looked at her hand and when he looked at it everyone did. Kagome noticed she was still holding his hand, she let go and blushed.

     "Where's Inuyasha?" She asked as she tilted her head so they wouldn't see the blush.

     "We haven't seen him since the day you left with Sesshomaru." Sango answered as she petted Kirara.

     "He was very upset when he found out you left so I'm assuming he left to find you." Miroku informed as a perverted grin came upon his face. "I see you are wearing your modern clothes, Kagome. Just like old times." Miroku added as he tapped his chin.

     "Get out of this hut right now or you will suffer the consequences of your sentence." Kagome said indifferently, her face showed no emotion as she pointed towards the exit.

     "Will do!" Miroku exclaimed nervously as he hurried put the door. Sesshomaru held back a smile as the sight.

     "So Sango, what happened while I was gone? Where's Kaede?" Kagome asked as she sat down next to the demon slayer.

     "I will be at the Goshinboku when you need me." Sesshomaru told Kagome before leaving her alone with Sango.

     "Miroku and I got married and he's improving, he barely looks at any women besides me." Sango said as she blushed, it quickly faded. "Something terrible did happen though, Kaede... Kaede... She passed away." Sango added as she teared up.
