I bit my nails nervously as we walked towards the arcade. "Is there something wrong?"
"What?" I asked looking at Laurance.
"Something seems... off about you. What is it?"
"Nothing, I was just, zoning out. Sorry." I looked away, continuing to nibble my fingertips. I felt a warm hand wrap around my hand and pull it away from my mouth. I looked at Laurance. "Hmm?"
"Is this about, Valkrum?"
"I don't know. Something feels... off. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't like it."
"Do you want me to drive you home?"
"No! I don't want you to miss hanging out with your friends, I'll be fine. Trust me. I'm just... never mind."
"Uhm okay. Well today's our day to relax and forget about everything. Won't that be fun? Huh? Huh?"
"Sure... just don't leave my side... please?"
"Okay, but don't freak out too much."
"What?"
"Uh, sorry I don't know. I meant about Michi and what not. The hands glowing red. You know, don't have to burn her to a crisp if that's what you were planning on."
"No! I-I don't remember that. Letting my hands glow red. I didn't even know I could do that."
"Hmm, strange. Yeah, I won't leave your side tonight. Unless it's that important." He joked.
"Hmm," I nodded. I intertwined our fingers and we kept walking. I glanced behind us, and saw a vaguely familiar, but haunting face. I squeezed my eyes shut and looked again. Gone. "Huh?"
"What?" I looked at him, eyebrows furrowed. "What is it?"
"I thought I saw... forget it. It can't be. He... just forget it."
"Mkay." He pulled my closer to him, putting his arm over my shoulder.
"Can I break off from the group for a little bit, I need to check something out"
"I'm coming with you. Wait here I'm gonna go tell-"
"No, it's fine. It'll be quick. I swear. I just need to go do something."
"Oh, is it like a girl thing?"
"If I say it is would you let me go on my own?"
"Yes."
"Then it's a girl thing."
"Liar!" He hissed.
"Irene... just let me go for five minutes. I'll be right back. Okay?"
"F-Fine!" He grumbled. "But I'm telling Garroth."
"Pfft! I don't care what Garroth thinks!" I giggled.
"Whatever. Go do whatever it is you wanted to do." He said shoving my shoulders lightly. I rolled my eyes and walked down by Hot Topic *cough*Zane's favorite store*cough*.
"Valkrum. Not in here." I spoke. I couldn't see him, but I could sense him. "Lets take this outside."
"Why? So your friends can't watch you crumble?"
"I don't know why you're getting cocky. You're the one who's gonna need a friend to help."
"Fine. You wanna play that way, let's take this outside... in the woods."
"Fine," I breathed. Travis. I don't know if my magyks are strong enough to tell you this, but, if I'm not with Laurance in fifteen minutes. Only assume the worst. I'm either dead, or hidden somewhere. Likewise I'm going to end up dead either way. Don't try to interfere. He'll try to kill you again. Just, don't come looking for me, and tell Laurance I love him, tell everyone I love them, and don't forget to hug Zane every now and then. Lilac is going to end up alive, so Vylad is going to want to meet her. You're a great friend Travis. Katelyn deserves you, and I see a great future for you two. Bye.
