Christina's POV:
My lovely Indian family consists of 5 members. 6 with me. Let me give you an introduction.
Let's start with Shivani, she was the mother of the 3 girls. She is such a strong and nice person. She was the one who took me to their family... She was such an idol for all of her kids and introduced me to the Indian traditions.
Taniv, the father of them. He had his one stand on the weekly town market. He didn't get much for it, but it was enough to take care of his family. And me.
Then Lisha, the youngest. She was only 5 years old. I always helped Shivani with household. Lisha got quickly used to me. She was really cute.. But also reminded me on my family... It was such a strange feeling...
Okay, then we have Ashiva, she was 7 years old. They couldn't pay for the school, so, I decided to show her some things. But it was pretty difficult first because they didn't speak any word in English...
And last but not least, Lysisha, she was just in Dani's age that time. At first I tried to stay away from her because she reminded me on Dani... SO MUCH! She was so nice and if I cried... She was the one who wanted to help me..Katherine's POV:
I had a really wonderful family.. I definitely started a new life.. I couldn't close my old one but I had to start a new chapter.
I was in a family with 3 young boys, grandma and Mom.
The boys, Sammy, Luomi and Cale were just too cute. They were age 6 and 7. When I came there, they kinda wanted too impress me. They were only 6 and 7 and they were amazing street dancers!!
Then, we have grandma Hanna, what a passionated woman!
And last, Mali, the Mom to the 3 boys. After a few days, she already took me as a part of their family. So many traditions!
But.. Their Dad died when an earthquake destroyed the city!Lisa's POV:
I was in a family with Mom Katinka Dad Petrojic and 2 children. Sofija and Sonija. They had a really beautiful house. The day they asked me if I want to come to them, I wasn't sure about my decision but I risked my step into the new life. I was afraid of the new life. I was glad that I could speak some Russian so I could communicate with the family. Katinka worked in the public mall and Petrojic was a trainer for artistic inline skating. Sofija and Sonija are twins and they both went to school, elementary school.
Amy's POV:
I was pretty scared at first and didn't know if I should go with the family, but I noticed that I needed to re-start. A part of me was really happy about the fact I went to a new family. Well, I kinda stayed behind that day. They have one son and their daughter died, because she didn't get enough food. At first I didn't know why they took me to them... I mean, they couldn't feed all of them. They didn't have enough for all of them. But they took me anyway?
So, Hadiya, my 'new' Mom was really weird at first. She was kinda quiet and kinda ignored me the first days. Maybe it was of her dead daughter Jamila. Then we have Bakari, Jamila's brother. He was alive but really thin too. He is so nice! He probably knew what happened to me and always brought me some kind of selfmade tea. It was not really tea, it was kind of herbs and water with lemon or something. I'm not sure. But for his 8 years, he was such an angelic gentleman!
Now, Bashin. He was an African spirit Guardian. Sounds pretty weird, I know. I was kinda scared of him at first and stayed away.
I still remember my first meal.. Ugali, which is corn mush. I hated it!
Lauren's POV:
I ended up in an orphanage. I was surrounded by lots of kids, all younger than me, and no one was able to speak English. Wow, what a great start. Some of them always whispered behind my back and started laughing... I felt so stupid, because I didn't even know what they were saying. At dinner, everyone was talking and nobody cared about me... I was alone for like 2 weeks, until a little girl started talking to me. She had a dictionary in her hand and asked me if I would like to join her doll picnic. That was really cute. That was kinda like the first time I talked to someone in there.
After a few months, they told me that I would have to go to school... Public Highschool. I experienced one of the worst days ever.. School sucked! Some of my new classmates tried to talk to me in English but honestly, they talked such a stupid shit..
Dani's POV:
Hoa is a really nice person. She saved me from the orphanage. She had a little apartment in the city. (If you ask, she wanted me to call her Hoa instead of Hoa Xi but whatever...)
Well, when she decided to take me, Hoa knew that she wouldn't be at home alot because she was a paramedic. I had mixed feelings at first. On one side, I didn't really care, I was just thankful that I had a home but on the other side, I was scared to be alone. I was new in China, lost memory, I didn't know where my family was and my life has just been saved. Sometimes I heard voices in my head, coming back even more often. Sometimes those were just noises but sometimes they turned into screaming. Sometimes I also got to see flashes in my head and some kind of really short memory appeared in my head. Just fractions of a second. When Hoa left for work, sometimes the voices came back and I was scared. Sitting in the corner praying that the voices would just disappear. I cried. But I was too afraid to tell Hoa, I didn't want to bother her...
Some day, she came home earlier and found me screaming in the bathroom. I covered my ears with my hands and cried. Hoa comforted me and I told her that I don't want to be alone... She swore that I won't be alone anymore and she held what she said. She stayed with me.
