Christina
As I just told, I got the flight ticket from Amy. I couldn't believe it, so I walked up to the cafe I was working at, hoping to meet Canzie there. Yes, the friend I mentioned at the evry beginning. She visited her family in Canada, so I haven't seen her in a longer time. She didn't know anything about the letter though. We were pretty good friends, but okay, she was even my only friend. Everyone in this town spoke Indian and not nearly enough English to interact wth me or the other way around. Well, I really hoped to find her in the late shift. It was around 6 I think. Luckily the cafe has longer opening hours during summer. I walked in and sat on a table near the window.
"Good Evening, may I take your order?" someone asked while walking from my back to side after a few minutes. I turned around and smiled at Canzie.
"Oh man! Christina, what are you doing here? I didn't expect you here." she said and hugged me.
"I was hoping to meet you here... um.. do you think you have a little time after finishing your shift?" I asked.
"Sure, I think so. What's this grin at your face?" she wondered. I picked the letter out of my purse and showed her the flight ticket. She smiled right after she noticed the destination.
"I can't wait." she said and walked away. A few minutes later she came back with a drink.
"Um, I can't remember ordering something." I said.
"Don't worry, this is on me." she winked and walked away. I leaned on the table and pointlessly stirred the water with my straw until a masculine strong voice appeared behind me.
"Hey." the man said and I furiously turned around. It was my boss. Thanks. I freaking don't need him around. I really don't like him. I had a really kind old boss at the beginning but then he retired. Now we have a like 40 or 50 year old guy who is kinda pervert in my eyes. Did I really just say that? Sorry if I offended you. Canzie and I are always disgusted when he comes up and winks at us, stares at our... *caugh, caugh*, or touches us somewhere else with his sweaty hands. He keeps telling us how beautiful and "pure" we are. That's literally his favorite word.
"Christina, how comes that I stumble across such beauty today?" he almost filthy smirked. Ugh here we go.
"Hi,.. Neil." I said pretending to smile back at him. Then I turned to the window and exhaled deeply.
"Are you having a good day?" he asked and sat down on the opposite bench. My eyes widened and then I turned my head towards his.
"mh... fine... I guess.." I replied and turned to the door and the bar table, making up plans to get out of here or hoping to see Canzie. Canzie to rescue me!
"You look extra beautiful today." he said. Mannnnn, can he please just stop?! FINALLY, there is she. I gave her signs to look at me and when she finally noticed me I gave her a "please rescue me" look. Finally she walked up to us. Thank you Canzie.
"Um.. Neil.. I think..emm.. we got a problem with the.. coffee machine!" she said.
"Really? Didn't I just use it and it worked?" he replied.
"Nop, somehow it didn't work. Would you mind checking on it?"
"Fine." he sighed and walked away from me.
"Get. Out. Of. Here. NOW." Canzie whispered.
"Thanks, meet you outside in 15 minutes!" I replied, grabbed my purse and went outside.
I sat on the brick wall next to the building and waatched every car driving by until Canzie finally came out. We made our way along the road, but still towards my home. I thanked her for earlier and then talked about the letter I got from Amy, the tickets I got, the panic attack I had earlier and so on. She carefully listened to every sinle word which I really appreciated.
