Chapter 9: GTA

Josh's POV:

I heard a noise behind me from the doorway so I turned around to find out. I didn't expect to find Simon staring back at me. God he looks bad. I feel like I just want to hug him and help him, but I can't help if I don't know what's wrong. Maybe I can at least get him to talk to me, not necessarily about what's going on, just anything.

"Hey Si." I said, as he entered to kitchen, grabbed himself a drink and sat down at the island around the corner from me. Well at least he's sat down while I'm here.

"Hi." He mumbled, almost inaudibly.

"You up for recording GTA later? It's been a while since we played it, but there's been a new DLC released so I thought we could start playing it again." I asked, thinking the best topic to talk about would be recording.

"Okay, yeah. It's been too long since we recorded GTA, man, so it'll be good to get back into it."

"It will. The new DLC looks interesting too, so I can't wait to see how this turns out."

"What time you planning on recording?"

"I'm not sure yet, I'll just Skype you when we're ready. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, I've got to edit some videos and I'll be done."

"Okay, I'll talk to you later then."

"Yeah, talk to you later." And with that, he was back out of the kitchen and up to his room to edit.

I just stayed where I was, thinking. That's the first conversation we've had off camera since the video that seem to start this all 'The fast thinking word challenge'. That's really weird to think about. I haven't had a proper conversation with one of my best friends in 2 weeks. What happened to us?

I know Vikk said he'd talk to me in his own time, but I can't help but want to approach him about it. I know it's probably not the best thing to do, but I really care about him and knowing something is wrong and he won't come to me really hurts.

When I finally moved to go back to my room, I grabbed a can of Dr. Pepper to take with me before climbing the stairs to my room. I got to the top and debated going to speak to Vikk, but decided against it when I realised he was recording, probably Minecraft.

I sat down at my desk, realising that to record gta, I probably needed to find a playlist to play, find out who was free to record and then set everything up. How fun. Well, at least I have my other videos recorded for now and mostly edited.

Simon's POV:

Of everyone that could have been in the kitchen, why did it have to be Josh? I really wanted to tell him there and then, but I couldn't, it was like there was an invisible force actually stopping me from speaking, like the words got caught in my throat. It's a good job he started a conversation about recording, else that could have been extremely awkward.

Knowing that I now have a recording to do later, I set about editing my main channel video. I focused the best I could on the screen in front of me, even though my thoughts were on Josh. Again. On the information I would have to tell him eventually. On how he could react. It was starting to slightly scare me.

Josh just came and told me we were ready to record GTA, so I set myself up for recording. I'd managed somehow to make myself look half decent and pretty normal. I'd sorted my hair out, and my red eyes and black bags didn't look too bad now, and they couldn't be seen on the camera. Thank god. The last thing I want is questions.

It would be me, Josh, Vikk, Jide and Ethan recording GTA, and I wasn't sure what to expect. All I knew, was this was going to be fun.
