Chapter 24

After Kia finally got Ari to go to sleep she left the room leaving me alone. I watched as my beautiful baby girl slept in my arms, and I felt my heart begin to break in my chest. I'm never going to be good enough for her. I couldn't even get her to stop crying. What Kind of mother can't help her own baby?

The tears filled my eyes, and I did everything I could not to let them slip. Deep down I knew I was overreacting, and that my body was still a little out of wack. I was in a stage known as postpartum. It was basically a time period after a pregnancy where a woman's body tries to regain balance. Long story short, my hormoes were still all over the place for the time being. I knew this was just a small episode, but the tears still fell. I just wanted to be a perfect mother for Ariana. She's my world, and I can't let her down.

I ended up falling asleep in the chair while holding Ari, and I didn't wake up until I felt her being taken from me. My eyes shot open and I tightened my grip a little more. Kian stood in front of me with a smile on his face.

"I was just going to put her in the bed. You didn't look too comfortable sleeping on the chair, and I wanted you to come lay down." I smiled at Kian and let him take the baby. He was such a good dad, and a perfect boyfriend.

"Thanks baby, but I'm not really tired anymore. Is Kia home?" Kian nodded and said she was in the living room watching Supernatural. I rolled my eyes a little. Of course she was, what else would she be doing.

I made my way down to the living and sat next to Kia. I still had to thank her for the welcome  home party she threw for me and Kian, but I knew that when she was watching her show you never should bother her. I learned the hard way the first night I saw her watching it. I asked so many questions she ended up beating me with a pillow, and believe it or not....that shit hurt.

Finally the episode was over and Kia turned to face me after turning off the TV.

"What's up chica?"

"I just wanted to thank you." I said leaning over to give her a hug. She laughed a little and returned the hug.

"For?"

"The party! You didn't have to do that. Oh and for helping me get Ari to sleep earlier."

Kia smiled softly and shrugged, "No big deal. I'm always here if you nees anything."

I smiled at her and started to lean in for another hug, but before I could wrap my arms around her she quickly got up. I looked at her in confusion.

"Are you o-"

I was cut off by her running up the stairs, and straight towards the bathroom. My eyes widened and I quickly went after her. I knocked softly on the door.

"Kia?"

All that was heard was a soft groan. I called out for Jc and quickly opened the bathroom door. Kia was sitting on the floor next to the toilet with her back against the wall, and her knees pulled up to her chest. Before I could even get a word out she was on her knees spilling more content into the toilet.

I moved her hair out of her face, and looked away. Just the smell made me want to puke. I called for Jc again, but he never came. Instead Kian stood in the doorway looking worried.

"Where's Jc?"

"He left with Jayce a few minutes before you woke up." Kian said while staring at Kia. You could see it in his eyes just how worried he was. "Is she okay?" he finally asked.

Kia nodded her head a little bit while wiping her mouth.

"I'm fine."

Kian and I both looked at each other knowing she was anything but.

"Peanut, come on. We should go see a doctor. You've been puking everytime you ate something, since you woke up." Kian said making his way over to her.

Kia simply shook her head. She looked tired and didn't seem like she really wanted to talk. Either way she was going. Kian carried her out to the car, and drove her to the hospital. I stayed home with Ari and waited for Jc to arrive.

Two hours later I finally got a call from Kian.

H: hello?

K: hey, how's it going there at home?

H: Ariana and I are just fine. What about Kia? What happened?

K: She's fine, I'll let her tell you what was wrong. Jc should be coming home with Kia any minute. I'll be home in like...30 minutes.

H: Oh okay. Where are you going?

K: just picking up a little something. I gotta go, I'll see you soon baby. I love you.

H: well okay then, I love you too.

We hung up and I stared at my phone for a few minutes. He was up. To something I knew it. You could practically hear the smirk forming on his face. I felt little butterflies in my stomach as I sat in the rocking chair in Ariana's room while I waited. Thank god Kia was okay, and is coming home. She's my best friend and I don't know what to do without her.

When Kia and Jc walked through the front door I immediately pulled Kia into a hug. She hugged back tighter than usual and hid her face into my shoulder. Jc watched us with a straight face. He usually smiled when he saw us hugging. He told us he thought it was cute how close we were, but right now he looked like he was deep in thought.

"Kia, you are ok right?"

She slowly pulled back and looked me in the eye. She reached behind her taking Jc's hand into hers.

"Sit down."
