Training had always been quite depleting. I had designed and completed a schedule for sixty-eight  wolves, and it was not easy. The youngest warrior was sixteen and the eldest was fifty-nine. Everyone had a fair understanding of our current position in terms of the in-coming war; meanwhile I, was still not pleased. As I left the training grounds for the day, Tina's wolf runs over to me and then she shifts.

"Luna, the wolf pups are out of the daycare room, we need you to take care of things," she began.

"Do not worry Tina, I am sure I can help," I reassure her.

She smiled again, the shifts back into her light brown wolf, and took me to the pups. Once I got there, they all stared up at me. It is rude to stare, I reminded them. They all looked down in embarrassment and shame. They chorused an apology, and I sent them back to their mothers. I then gazed down at my stomach and could not help but smile. The thought that I was going to have my own pup running around in less that a month and a half.

Walking back to the pack house, I felt so happy seeing so many couples. Families with small children and teenagers. I spotted Kade; he was speaking  to his Beta Cris, and I walked over to him. After finishing his discussion, he came toward me. Smiling, he greeted me. I ask him what the previous discussion was about.

"Cris was updating me on the new guard post. I reason to believe that the Dark Forest Pack have been calling upon allies. Our sixty-eight will not stand against their two hundred-plus warriors. We must call our own allies," he says grimly.

My expression changed. I remembered something.

"We can ask my former pack to assist us. Luna Michelle handles all of the alliances, but she has the baby to take care of, so I can call Kira," I say.

"That would be great," replies Kade.

We walked back to the pack house for supper, and afterwards I called Kira. She gave the phone to Luna Michelle. The Luna listened to my proposition, agreed. The New Moon Pack would help us in this battle. That added forty-two warriors, breaking us at an even one hundred-ten total wolves. I used similar training methods to my former pack, so it should not be difficult when joined training begins. The only issue is that when training as wolves, I had to let Cris take over, since I did not have a wolf.

I told Kade the news and he seemed pleased, to say the least. After telling him the terms of agreement, which included housing and food at the time of the battle, he was satisfied. We headed upstairs to bed. Once the lights had been switched off, and we were both in bed; there was a sharp knock at the door.
