Adrienne.

6 am

I can't believe I stayed that long. I didn't get much sleep last night for various reasons. It was weird.

I got dressed and went downstairs to find my mom at the table.

"Good morning mom" she looked at me and smiled.

"Wow there's someone I haven't seen in a while. I like it mama" she smiled making me smile.

"Yeah. It was time." I grabbed my water.

"You and dad coming to the game tonight."

"Yes ma'am. Besides its your year as captain. I gotta see my baby tear it up." She began twerking.

"Okay mom. I'm out love you"

When I got to my car it was 7:15 so I had time to get Starbucks.

I walked in the Starbucks to find Tiffany and Rueben. I swear they didn't recognize me. They kept staring So I waved showing my braces and they looked shocked.

"AJ are you serious. I haven't seen this girl in so long." Tiffany said smiling at me.

"I like it Dri Dri" Rueben said. "Damn my girlfriends are fine as hell. Oooo Dri he's going to flip. Speaking of him how was last night." I sighed

"It was like teaching a cat to play fetch. He eventually got it at 2 am" I checked my phone to see that Kenzie texted me.

Kenzie: Hey Gorgeous. So are we going to go to your house after the game or mine. Kotas house is out the question

To Kenzie:Doesn't matter

Kenzie: Okay. I'll see you at school Sticks

"2AM HELL NO. I would have left him."

" I almost did"

Rueben paid for all of us and we were off to school.

Today was pep rally which meant the entire school was hyped. I had on my marching band t shirt ready for the rally

Today should be interesting.

PEP RALLY.

The entire band had on their sunglasses. Each section had different color bandanas. Of course we had black.

"YOU YO DADDYS SON" Jordan was hyped because not only was it pep rally but he gets to see his girlfriend. It's hard to believe that he has one because he's so goofy. She's a freshman at Xavier University and she's gorgeous. "Dang Girl ya look good." Jordan out his hand on my shoulder. "No you do honestly AJ." He smiled.

I turned to my section. "When the football team lines up were doing the cadence." I picked up my snare and they followed to where we had to line.

"Sticks is that you" Jeremy called to me. I waved. He started walking with me.

"I like it." He poked me and then I hear Kenzie and Kota screaming my name.

"BISH WAAAAA" Kota started clapping and twerking. "You look good mama."

I chuckled and I caught eyes with Odell who had Amanda in his arms.

It was Pep Rally time. Everyone was hyped up and everything because of game day. I was in Amanda's face because of what happened between me and Adrienne.

"Baby" she turned to me and I kissed her cheek. I really needed a distraction.

I saw Dakota and MeKenzie hyping up some girl. I think she's new because I've never seen her before.

"Who's the new girl" Victor came behind me. "She real fine" he licked his lips.

"You guys are unbelievable" Amanda seemed annoyed. I cared but not really.

"Yo Rueb who's the new girl" I asked.

"She's not new. That's Adrienne." I looked at him and then did a double. It was her. She had changed her hair back to its natural color. Her curls were embraced. It just made her beautiful.

I guess I must have been staring to long because by the time I snapped out of it Amanda left. I couldn't talk to Adrienne in time because she had already went with the band. She looked so relaxed when she played. The band was lit having everyone else hyped. Jordan was acting a fool as usual. We all had a fun pep rally. Every guy on the team was checking Adrienne out and it was NOT sitting well with me.

I not only had her on my mind but this Chem test that was about to be passed out.

"Okay clear off your desk and take out your calculators" Mrs Quincy said and my stomachs then went to my ass. I looked over at Adrienne who looked really bored and annoyed. I started sweating.

Mrs Quincy looked at me and smiled. I was nervous the entire time and figured I got everything wrong. I just new I failed. I'm going to get kicked off the team. I was the last one finished with my test.

"Okay the test will be in the grade book by 4:30. Have a good weekend." I sighed and then looked over at Adrienne who then smiled and nodded her head for assurance that I did okay.

4:45

I was back at school trying to suit up the game tonight, but I was sitting in the back of the quad. The only people on campus was the football team, cheer, and band.

"Hey man you gotta get ready" Victor came up to me. "Coach is looking for you"

"I'll be right there" he nodded and left.

I can't fail that test.

"Hey" I looked up to see Adrienne.

"Hey"

"Shouldn't you be getting ready" she chuckled.

"Yeah. It's just the Chem test its bugging me. I can't check it" my phone was on my grade list I just didn't log in.

"I'll check." She offered.

"No."

"Odell I know you Aced you're homework. I know you did well in the test. Here Odell" she held her hand out.

"Don't laugh at me please" she looked at me and asked for my username and password"

"Not bad" she handed me my phone. I passed with an 83.

I rushed and hugged her. "Thank you Adrienne" I couldn't let go of her. I looked at her but she wouldn't look at me.

"Odell no" she broke from me. I know I make her nervous and I can tell she likes me. I know she does ever since the 5th grade when I overheard her and MeKenzie talking about it.

I pulled her back and I kissed her. I kissed her because I couldn't take it and I wanted to see if my feelings were really there. My stomache was turning into knots.

She pulled away. She just stared at me and I couldn't help but stare back.

"Adrienne I-" she shook her head and then walked away.

"Odell" I know that voice anywhere. I know I'm so screwed
