~*Rob*~
"Get up," A loud voice demands. Confused, I sit up and rub the sleep out of my eyes.
"What's going on?" I mumble, grabbing the knife and concealing it the best I could in my tired state.
"Come." He grabs my arm and roughly pulls me to a stand. As soon as I gain my balance, he pulls me toward the door. What's happening? Why is he being so forceful?
"I'll ask again. What's going on?"
"No talking," He growled before continuing to pull me down a hallway. Soldiers line the walls, all of their faces were cold, basically expressionless. None of them made any move to help me, or even tell me what was happening. At that very moment it dawned on me. Today's the big day...
I bite my lip before turning my head to look forward. My short life was coming to an end today. To be honest, I don't remember much of my so called "family," let alone their names. Maybe I am "Prince Woofless" after all. Maybe all of my memories were erased, and I just believed what Vikk and Lachlan said was true. If so, why did I have my memories erased? Did I do it to protect myself? Or was it someone else?
~*Mat*~
The man in front of me stops suddenly, causing me to run into him. I mutter an apology before stepping back and scratching my head. "Why did we stop?"
"Look." The man points in front of him. Confused, I look around him to see what he was pointing at.
In front of us, was a group of five people. They all had hoods over their heads, and looked back at our group of 20 or so. They seem dangerous, yet, trustworthy at the same time.
Xenia steps forward and starts to speak in the alien language. One of the five, a woman, pulls off her hood and talks back to Xenia. They continue the conversation for a few moments before the four with hoods up start taking off their hoods. My heart skips a beat when the last one pulls off his hood. It was Preston. Only, he looked different. I can't put my finger on it though.
"Lisa?" Brandon speaks up from behind me, making the blonde woman from the group look up. Isn't Lisa the woman that got kidnapped?
"Brandon?!" She looks at him in shock. "What are you doing here?"
"Protecting Mat," he says, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. Preston looks over at the mention of my name. The dark circles under his eyes were quite prominent. Loosing Rob must have had a terrible affect on him. I can't imagine what I'd do if I was him...
"Hey Mat," Preston says with a slight smile.
"Hi Preston. How are you holding up?" He shrugs and lets out a small sigh.
"Alright I guess." He shakes his head. "Enough of me, we have to save Rob."
"Yeah. Rob." I clear my throat. "You know who he really is, right?"
"I have an idea," he murmurs quietly before looking away, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
"Excuse him," the woman who spoke with Xenia says, walking over, "He's been remembering things a lot lately. It's been hard on him." She looks at him and sighs before looking back at me. "I heard you name is Mat, correct?"
"Yeah. What's your name? I never caught it."
"Just call me Juniper. And, before you ask, I just came over to thank you."
"Thank me for what?" I look at her in confusion.
"Being there for him when I couldn't." She flashes a sad smile at me before turning to walk away.
