Seventeen

6) Comfort & Acceptance.

~Lily's POV~

I can't believe that just happened. Not only the fact that Jason kissed me, but the fact my older brother was watching. I'm glad Drew had the decency to walk away, whereas Levi just stood there in utter shock. Jason had walked away and Levi stalked off muttering under his breath. I followed him reluctantly to the car and the minute we sat inside he turned to me.

"What the hell was you thinking?" He questioned angrily. "I thought you said he had a girlfriend!"

"He does but they broke up, I didn't know that was going to happe-"

"I warned you! I told you he liked you! But you wouldn't listen, you always think you know best" He looked really angry at me. I know I should admit that he had been right, but I was so frustrated at his reaction that I kept arguing with him.

"You don't even know him Levi!" I shouted

"Of course I do, well enough to know that he's no good for you"

"How could you possibly know him?" I laughed sarcastically "You're never around enough to know about anything going on in my life!" I see a flash of sadness creep into his eyes, and before I start to feel guilty I get out of the car and walk very quickly down the street. I could hear Levi calling my name, but I did not stop, I broke out into a run, and made it out of Levi's sight.

~Drew's POV~

When Levi had rushed out of the café to find Lily, I tried to stop him. I knew he could trust Lily, I trusted her, even if I didn't trust Jason. I rushed out following him to stop him, but he was already stomping his way over to them.

"Levi!" I tried to call out but it was too late, he couldn't hear me. I decided to keep a distance, as I didn't want to be caught in the middle of what looked like it was going to be a bad argument. It was then that I saw it. Jason leading into Lily, I saw them wrapped in each others embrace, and it stung me in the heart like a knife. I hadn't know Lily for very long, but it still didn't take away the feeling of sadness I got when thinking about the fact that that could never be me, I would never be Jason. There was no doubt Lily was beautiful, and funny and smart, and we just seemed to connect from the moment we had met. But I couldn't do that to Levi, he had made us promise.

*Flashback to the guys at the airport*

"Now guys" Levi said as we had just got off our plane "I have a few rules to go over before we make it to my house" He looked at each of us individually "Don't tell my mom half of the things we've done or the conversations we've had" I looked at Austin who laughed. "And no one is even allowed to look at my sister"

"We get it man" Says Nate

"Yeah the bro code" Austin continues to laugh

"Don't worry bro, we've got your back" I smile at him

*End of flashback*

Instead of following Levi, I decided to walk away, my legs were moving before I told them to. I had no idea where I was going, but I kept walking until I came across a park bench. It was then that I realised, I was always going to feel like this. I hated Jason. But it wasn't just Jason I hated it was all the guys I had caught staring at Lily when we were on the beach. But it hadn't effected me until Lily was no longer beside me.

~Lily's POV~

As I turned the corner, I saw a familiar blonde boy with his head in his hands.

"Drew?" I asked cautiously

Was he Okay?

"Oh, Lily" He said smiling slightly, but I could tell it was fake.

"Are you Okay? What happened?" I sat down on the bench beside him.

"Oh nothing, the other guys went to Wendy's, and I'm waiting for Levi" He smiled at me again, but this smile looked real.

"Well I don't think you'll find him, we had a massive fight" I sighed looking down at my hands

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, I loved that I felt I could tell him anything. But beforei could answer, Drew's phone buzzed in his hands. He quickly pressed a button and held it up to his ear.

"Austin are you okay?" He said into the speaker "Yeah I'm still at the beach with Lily, I don't know where Levi is" He looked around and then looked straight at me, I heard mumbling on the other end of the line. "Oh okay" He looked down in concentration. "Alright, I don't know if I'm coming, yeah I don't feel up to it." He trailed off, so I signalled to him to pass me the phone, he gave it to me almost immediately.

"Hey Austin" I said Drew looked at me his eyebrow raised making me silently laugh. "Drew and I are going somewhere, we'll meet you back at the house, bye" I said before hanging up.

"We're going somewhere?" Drew asked with suspicion.

"Yeah and you'll love it!" I said beaming at him, my smile slowly faded.

"Hey" He said gently "You still need to talk?"

I looked around before I answered to check for Levi.

"He's gone home" Drew said answering my thoughts. "You can tell me anything you know?"

"Levi hates Jason" I sighed "But I've known him for ages as we went to the same school, and then two years ago we properly started to hang out" Drew concentrated on my facial expressions, before taking my hand in his.

"He's just worried about you Lil, if you can explain to him that he been there for you, he'll understand"

I look at Drew and smile, I clutch onto his hand tighter.

"It's just, with Levi away all the time, Jason has been there for me, he's comforted me on days when I missed Levi the most, cheered me up, made me laugh, he always been someone I can depend on." I stopped talking as a single tear fell down my cheek. Before it hit my chin, Drew reached up and wiped it away, never breaking eye contact.

"Tell him this, he will understand trust me, he's just worried about you, he doesn't mean to make you feel like this. In the end it's your decision, and ill always be there for you."

"That's the funny thing, it wasn't until tonight that I realised something" I smiled at Drew holding by the shoulders, Drew smiled brightly at me. "I think...I think I like Jason too!" I say wrapping my arm around Drew's neck. "Thanks Drew your such a great friend! You've really helped me" I say as slowly he wraps his arms around my back, yet I could have sworn I felt him sigh into my hair.
