P.S sorry for the long title, IDK why I did that. This funeral is so boring, like seriously. How much can I bet you, that this funeral is going to last until like 5:00? I haven't even done my eulogy yet, and yet, were like 50 minutes in. I mean, I haven't been to a funeral for many years, but I'm sure as hell know that it shouldn't take fifty minutes before I say my eulogy. I mean, in normal funerals the eulogy is presented like ten to fifteen minutes in. Derek hasn't even said anything yet either, all we have been doing is a bunch of introductions of technically is his whole family. "So before we hear our eulogy from Ms. Lavender Evans and Derek could we please take a small break and bury Noah Brant. So you guys have twenty minutes to eat and get ready to bury Noah." As soon as his mother steps down there's a projecting clock on the back of the wall and it's timing down twenty minutes. Wow, they're not playing around. I took advantage of this twenty minute break and spoke to the police. "Officer, the suspects are coming soon. I have my friend tracking down what they're doing." I say
"How is your friend tracking them down?"
"My friend posts things all the time on Vine so my friend is tracking down that friend. I promise it's not illegal."
"Better not be." the officer laughs "do you know when your presenting your eulogy?"
"I think I'm presenting it outside, after Noah gets buried."
"Okay, well I'm going to get something to eat because I'm starving. You should too." the officer says and leaves to the cupcake table. I head towards Bella who's grabbing Oreos and donuts. "Did Carly post anything?" I ask
"I don't know, can't you check?"
"No, the officer has my iPad for further references." Bella gives me her plate and checks her phone.
"Ah, this is pretty funny. She posted this 30 seconds ago, they're right down the street they're just stopping for a slushie. So they should be here soon."
"Thanks. I can't wait till I do my eulogy. But I need one more thing." I look towards my right to see Noah's mother sitting there reading Noah's diary. "I think I found what I need." I head towards her and sit right next to her.
"Hi Ms. Brant." I say
"Hello Miss. Evans. How are you?"
"I'm fine. Doing well. May I borrow your son's diary for my eulogy?"
"Of course honey. Just hold on for one second, I just never read the whole diary. He died near October and this is a very strange entry he did. Sounds like he's been murdered."
"Yeah, that's why the cops are here. You see, I think I found out the mystery. I called them over because all the puzzle pieces fit."
"Could you at least tell me if it's homicide or suicide?"
"Actually I want to save that for my eulogy." I look up to the clock. "There's only seven minutes left until you find out the truth. So I recommend having something to eat and I shall take this book away from you."
"Yeah, you're right. I mean, I have been worrying and been depressed for a while and I need to have a bit of fun in my life. If anything Noah would want me too."
"You're right. You need to relax." I say "have fun." Ms. Brant gets up and heads toward the donut table. I know I'm going to get this right. I have to, I mean it makes so much sense."
"Alright everyone I need everyone to line up towards the door so we can bury Noah." Ms. Brant says and surprisingly everyone lined up in a straight line and we were heading outside. After burying Noah I saw Carly and Heather standing at the back. I didn't have time to greet them and I had to tell everyone the truth. "Alright everyone, I need you to stay silent. Were going to have Miss. Lavender Evans present her eulogy." Everyone claps for me and I take the stage.
"Thank you everyone for coming out, my name is Lavender Evans and I was Noah's friend. I..." I didn't know what to say. I mean I can't just jump to the murder part. "I...I.. I'm so sad that he died because I didn't know what he was going through. I feel like I pressured him to do things that he shouldn't, and I told him the truth about our school and little did I know that he never had much friends when he was growing up. That's why he was doing what he was doing, and I feel terrible that I am responsible for leading him into bad behaviour. So... I'm going to make it up for him. I know how he died." Everyone gasps and breaks down into conversation, I had to wait about five minutes until everyone is settled. Wow, this group of people is fantastic. "On October 30th, he went to a party with his ex girlfriend and her friend. When he was there, he had a glass of water and placed it on the coffee table. It's unidentified where he went, but we know he was nowhere near the drink of water that time. But the hostess of the party was Ben, who was a 'friend'" I made sure I used quotations on that. "Who was raised in a bad neighbourhood and never liked Noah. In fact, he was so jealous of Noah that he made sure him and his girlfriend broke up. I'm not going to explain because that's a whole different story. With that in mind, his ex girlfriend was also in with this plan, and when she told her friend she'll be in the washroom, she was actually with Ben and brought cyanide and mixed it with a certain substance that makes it look invisible and Ben placed it in the drink. So it was homicide, in short. Also, to make matters worse, Noah's ex girlfriend is here right now to pretend that she cares." I pointed all the way at the back towards Heather and everyone turns to her and Carly. "To be clear, she's Heather." Says Carly pointing at her. Heather gasped at Carly and said "That's not true, you can't believe a stupid thirteen-year-old. How do you even know that?"
"Simple, last night I snook out window and overheard Ben talking to his friends about your plan. Don't believe me? I'll show you, I recorded it." I ran towards the officer and took my iPad and pressed play. Everyone was shocked by the end of the video. Especially Heather. "That doesn't prove anything." She snapped
"It proves a lot actually." Snaps back Carly "you're a murderer."
"Alright young lady, you're coming with me." Says one of the officers and they took her away. Everyone clapped and I took the stage again.
"I'm sorry it's not you pr typical eulogy speech, but I had to do it. I needed everyone's attention. So thank you for listening and have a great day."When I got home, I just went straight into my bed and relaxed. Today was crazy, and I'm glad it's over. "Noah," I say "if you're listening, I'm sorry it had to go down this way. I'm really sorry for pushing you and now, I understand. So I hope what I did could pay for what I've done for you. I hope you're enjoying heaven, please watch over me. Your dearest Lavender.
