Chapter 9: Parachute

Before I start this chapter, if you noticed I totally messed up the days. So practically we all went to school on Saturday. I didn't know what day it was, sorry 'bout that. So I want to get out of the month of September and on to November so there will be a time jump. So that means Carly's here, yeah. Enjoy your time jump. Thx for understanding.

November, 8 2016
It's Monday and I hate Monday morning's. But on the bright side, Carly is here to walk to and back from school with. Unlike the first week of school. The first week of school was crazy epic, no one has had a more crazy first week old school than me. Carly's excuse of not coming to school was because she broke her arm, I asked her where was her cast and she said she had to take it off early. Carly's lying, it's pretty obvious. But I don't understand why. I told her all about Derek and the drama with Noah and Bella. With that, you might be wondering what choice Noah chose. Guess what? He chose to date Heather over what I just said. What a dick. So stupid. "Hey Carly." I say when I answer the door.
"Sup, ready to go to school?"
"Always." We walked the same way we always do and then after an awkward moment of silence Carly finally said "Why did you stop liking Noah?"
"Huh?"
"Whenever I talk about him, or bring up his name you always just become silent."
"Oh." I forgot to tell her why I didn't like him anymore. I also forgot to tell Bella what I heard. Whoops. "He did something to piss me off."
"Can you please stop being vague?"
"Can you please tell me what really happened to you?" When I mentioned that, I saw Carly's face become dull. Is there something she's hiding from me? But why? That doesn't make sense, she never lies to me.
"Lavender, I told you I broke my arm."
"No you didn't you'd still have that cast on if you did."
"I took it off early. It wasn't that severe."
"Really." I say sarcastically
"Okay, since when did you stop having faith in me?" She said sadly.
"I'm so sorry Carly I've just been delusional recently."
"Okay." She sighed and said "it's hard for me, to adjust being so far away from my friends." After that, it was silent and then we reached school. Usually the first person we bump into when we come is Bella, this time is we saw Derek and he walked up to us. "Who's he?" Whispered Carly
"Derek, we became friends when you were gone."
"Are you sure you didn't stop liking Noah for this Derek dude?"
"No, of course not."
"Okay, good because he's cute." Derek finally came up to us and said
"What's up Lavender? Who's your new friend?"
"Actually, we've known each other's since kindergarten." I start "this is Carly." They shook hands and Carly looks like she's on cloud 9.
"Nice to meet you Derek." She says giggling like crazy. Wow, she really likes him, but knowing Derek he'd know that Carly likes him. He's a really good inspector. "We have to go, we'll see you later." I say as soon as I see Bella.
"Sure catch ya later." He says and walks into school.

At lunch, Bella, Carly and I were having so much fun making fun of each other's love life. I finally told Bella about Noah, and she said she knew. Mostly because he is really popular dating Heather and all. "Carly likes Derek." I blurt out to them.
"Really? Are you seriously legit right now." Squealed Bella. Carly looked down like she was embarrassed or something. Hopefully I didn't embarrass her.
"I, thought he was cool. Not typically a liking thing."
"Sure it isn't. You haven't had a crush since grade 5." Gossiped Bella
"Ugh, please don't remind me of Dave, he's a really embarrassing crush to have." Carly wasn't wrong, I don't know why he even liked him in the first place. Just gross.

After school Carly and I was walking home together once again, in silence. "Why did you tell Bella that?" Carly asked
"Oh, I'm really oblivious to other people's opinions and feelings."
"You didn't answer my question."
"We always tell each other what's going on in our daily life."
"Oh, well I don't like him. I just, I don't know."
"I'm sorry Carly, I didn't-"
"It's fine." After a couple of minutes, of silence this time I decided to break the silence.
"Carly, was Heather ever your friend?" Carly looked shocked and about five seconds later she stops walking. She looks like a deer lost in headlights. I turn around and she actually wasn't a deer like I said, she was like a pit bull ready to attack a cheetah. That's how pissed she is. Honestly I don't know why.
"Why are you asking me about Heather?" She yelled
"I was just curious. I spoke to Heather last month and it bothered me ever since."
"Don't ever bring her up again." She snapped, I was pretty shocked when she said that.
"Okay, I promise I won't."
"Good." She said and then we started walking again, I wanted to ask why she was being so snappy recently, but now is obviously not the right time.

Once I got home, I started my homework which is odd because I never do, usually when I get home I go straight on Instagram. But I guess I wanted some time to myself, because right now, going on social media isn't going to help me right now. But majority of the time I think about why did Carly get offended when I mentioned Heather? Maybe because it's a sensitive episode for her. But again, she's never sensitive. I guess people get sensitive after a while.

So it took me about two or three days to write this chapter and I don't know why it took me so long. Anyway, see you next chapter, I was trying to build up suspense for the next chapter. Not just for me, but for the readers too. Thanks for supporting my book and reading it.
