Chapter 14 (Hannah’s POV)

I fiddled with my bracelet waiting for Nate to come. Today I had on blue jeans, a purple top and some matching flats. I didn’t bother wearing any studs or make up besides my usual eyeliner, mascara and gloss. I was currently in the Library waiting for Nate to come so we could go ahead and continue our project, I still couldn’t get over the fact he came up with something so smart like “Love is friendship”. He never fails to surprise me. I’m glad we’re on good terms though; it’d be a pain doing this project and not holding any friendly conversation at all.

After about 10 minutes of further waiting, Nate strolled in like he had no care in the world and judging by his expression at my glare; he really didn’t have any care.

“Where were you? You’re 10 minutes late” I raised an eyebrow. I didn’t wait 10 minutes extra for nothing when I could be doing better things. I mean, who wants to be in a library working on a project the day before their birthday? Not me.

“I got late jheeze calm down missy” He smiled, showing his pearly whites. I couldn’t help but notice how his clothes were crumpled; his hair was dishevelled as if someone had tangled their fingers in it and how he had such a bright smile on his face. I should’ve known; he had obviously made out with some sket. I rolled my eyes but had that weird feeling in my tummy again, what the heck is wrong with the food in the kitchen?

“Why are you rolling your eyes doofus?” He questioned.

“Nothing let’s just work” I wasn’t about to tell him anything.

I took out the project and all we had done so far was paint the words ‘Love is Friendship’ in cursive writing which looked stunning if I may say so myself.

“What should we do? We said Love is Friendship but we need images to go with it” Nate exclaimed.

“I thought you were the smart one” I raised an eyebrow at him, a small smile playing at my lips.

“That was just a spur of the moment thing that happened last lesson okay?” He spoke annoyed.

After pondering over the project for a while, I focused in on the word ‘Friendship’. Friendship reminded me of mine and Nate’s friendship when we were younger and that gave me an idea.

“I know what to do” I smiled.

“Enlighten me with your knowledge oh-so-smart-one”

“Ha ha very funny. We could have little kids holding hands, then teenagers in the same position, then adults, then old people and then a graveyard with that couple’s graves next to each other. This shows how they’ve been a couple since they were young and how they’ve stayed a couple until their death. So their relationship began as young friends”

“Wow that’s an excellent idea Miss Clarke”

“Shut up douche. Let’s just draw the little kid’s today yeh? Then we’ll do the other pictures later on in the year”

We set to work on the little kids, I drew the boy and he drew the little girl. We thought it’d be better to work on the opposite sex. I drew a thin boy with shaggy brown hair, blue eyes wearing a blue shirt and jeans. He was holding hands with the girl Nate drew and she had blonde hair, blue eyes and was wearing a blue and white spotty sunflower dress. It took quite a while trying to perfect all the details and shading it in but in the end it looked realistic and detailed. The dress reminded me of a dress I used to own when I was younger; it was really pretty and looked like the one in the picture.

“I’m tired, that took a while” Nate complained.

“I agree, it’s 4pm now, what do we do?” I asked.
