Chapter 29 (Hannah’s POV)
1 week later
“SKITTLES!”
“HARIBOS!”
“NO SKITTLES!”
“NO HARIBOS!”
Me and Nate are currently fighting over which sweet is better. It is obviously Skittles! How can anyone think Haribos are better than skittles? We’re at the university sitting in a classroom along with Cassie, Noah, Ben, Matt, Jasmine and Lynn. We’re going to have an all nighter finishing off our project so it is ready by the date it is due.
Apparently every year for the whole week this is what happens. All the students get together and spend the night in university doing work. It is actually really fun. Today was the last day sadly.
Things have been awkward between me and Nate. We keep arguing over everything, no matter how little.
“HARIBOS ARE STUPID!” I glared at him. I know I’m being childish but skittles are way better than haribos!
“STOP!” Cassie scowled. “You’ve been shouting at each other for the past 30 minutes. Please just shut up.”
“Sorry.” I apologised looking down at the ground. Nate did the same and frowned.
“Now apologise to each other.” Cassie ordered us like a mother.
“I’m sorry Nate.” I apologised in a baby voice.
“It’s okay.” He replied.
“CASSIE HE DIDN’T SAY SORRY BACK!” I told off Nate to Cassie like a kid in primary school.
“Nate!” Cassie sternly said.
“I’m sorry Hannah.” He apologised pouting.
Cassie then walked off and continued helping Jasmine with her assignment.
“Do you want to finish of the project since we only have a few days to do it?” Nate asked.
“Okay, all we need to do is paint it so I’ll go get the paint.” I smiled trying to be polite. I haven’t forgotten what happened between us, I just want to put our problems aside so we can work on this and try to not fight infront of our friends.
I walked out of the door and went into our art classroom. I got the paint and our project and walked back to the classroom my friends are in.
“CAN SOMEONE OPEN THE DOOR?” I shouted kicking the door realizing the both my hands were occupied. I waited for a few seconds and then felt my whole face sting.
“OW!” I screeched in pain and dropped the project along with the paint bottles. The next thing I heard was laughter. A lot of laughter. I looked up to see Nate laughing his butt off.
“I’m so sorry!” He said inbetween his chuckles.
“You don’t sound sorry.” I crossed my arms.
“Oh come on! That was hilarious!” Nate laughed.
“You could have warned me you idiot!” I glared at him while rubbing my nose.
“How was I supposed to know that the door will hit you?” Nate complained.
“You just should’ve!” I groaned picking up the paint and our project from the ground. I stomped inside the classroom. I could still hear Nate barking with laughter outside.
I put our project on the table and took out my paintbrush. I squirted some red paint into the paint pallet and started painting. I started with the last picture we had drawn. The two grave’s next to each other. I coloured the rose bright red with a dull green stem.
