Chapter 34 – Hannah’s POV
It’s 4am and everybody is sound asleep except me. Cassie’s staying at her boyfriend’s house so I’m alone right now. I spotted a note on my bed last night leading me to think about it the whole night. It said:
Hannah darling, what did I tell you about staying away from Nate? You belong to me only; I don’t like you being around other boys. You don’t know what I’m capable of.
Love...
And once again his stupid skull was marking the bottom of it. I’m officially freaked out.
I’ve been tossing and turning all night but I still couldn’t get to sleep so now I’m going to go for a stupid method that everyone thinks works, but me.
Counting sheep.
1 sheep.
2 sheep.
3 sheep.
4 sheep.
The door creaked open, breaking my count and there stood a muscular male figure. Oh shit. What if it’s the creepy guy sending me the notes all the time? Oh no this is it, I’m going to die, I’m going to die! I closed my eyes and started praying: Oh Lord please forgive me for all my sins and sorry for lying to you when I was 5 because I did eat Nate’s cookies.
Laughter echoed throughout the room. Well, whisper-laughter. What the hell? I cracked open one eye and turned on the lamp, only to see the boy I like laughing his head off. His sweatpants are hanging low on his hips, clearly showing his toned abs and v-line. I’m glad I was awake at 4am then.
“What the hell are you doing here you twat?! You scared me!” I got up and started punching his chest. I was really scared.
“I have another surprise for you” He held my wrists, stopping me from hitting his chest (not that it was hurting him anyways).
I looked down at myself to see me wearing a pair of bugs bunny shorts, a matching tank and bunny slippers. Guess who likes bunnies?
“I’m not going out like this” I stated, tilting my head up towards him.
“You look amazing the way you are love, but yes you might want to change into something else, you’ve got 30 minutes and I’ll be back to pick you up” He kissed my forehead, letting his lips linger there for a second.
He left my room and I went to have a shower, all thoughts about staying away from Nate have been long gone. I got dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans and an oversized blue ‘Love’ jumper (it’s quite cold outside because it’s early morning). I left my hair in waves again and my make up natural. I put on a pair of brown boot wedges. I put on some studs and my Michael Kors watch – a 16th birthday gift from my Dad. I put my phone, money and everything into my pockets. Just as I was about to put on my scarf and leave, Nate walked in and said “stop”.
I looked at him confused whilst he was focused on something on my neck.
“You still wear that?” He used his finger to lift up the necklace.
“Yeah I do” I whispered.
“I gave you that 10 years ago, you told me you gave up on contacting me, why do you still wear that?” He questioned.
“I told you I gave up on contacting you. Not that I forgot about you. You gave me this locket just before I left, so I’m always reminded of you, so that I never forget you. This has been on my neck everyday for the past 10 years, not once has a day gone by without me thinking of you” I sniffed.
