Chapter 23 (Hannah’s POV)
My head kills. Drinking last night was massive mistake. Right now I’m lying down on my bed with my eyes shut. Whenever I open them everything is blurry which makes my headache even worse. I tried sitting up and a hand helped me. As my vision was still blurry I couldn’t see who it was. I blinked a few times before everything went back to normal again. I saw that the person who helped me was Nate.
“Thanks.” I mumbled rubbing my head. I grabbed my glasses from the side and put them on. Nate handed me a glass of water with some aspirin. I threw the aspirin in my mouth and gulped down the water. I shot Nate a weak smile and he returned it.
“What are you doing here?” I croaked.
“Well Cassie has a lecture and I figured you’ll have a hangover and thought that you would like some company so here I am.” Nate stated.
“Thanks but you can go if you want to. I don’t want you to miss anything because of me.” I replied.
“No it’s fine I have nothing to do anyway.” Nate smiled at me. He looked adorable. His dimples were deep and made me want to poke them. He looked very attractive in his black t-shirt and dark blue denim jeans.
“So are you hungry?” Nate asked. Just on cue my tummy growled really loudly. I looked down embarrassed. “I’ll take that as a yes. I’ll be right back” He chuckled and left the room.
I got my phone which was under my bed and saw that I had a 1 message from Kyle, 1 message from Cassie and 1 from Matt.
I opened the one from Cassie first.
‘Sorry I had to leave. I can’t miss this lecture. We’re going to get our results for the mock test we did. Love you xx – Cassie’
I quickly typed up a reply and sent it to her.
‘It’s totally fine and how the hell do you not have a hangover? My head is killing me!! Love you too xx – Hannah’
I then opened up Matt’s text.
‘Hey Hannah. How are you feeling? You had a bit too much to drink yesterday so I was just wondering if you were okay. J - Matt’
I smiled at his text. It was cute that he texted me to see if I was alright.
‘I’m not too bad. Just feel like someone keeps punching my head repetitively. xx – Hannah’
I was about to open up Kyle’s but I heard the door open. I looked up to see Nate walking in with a tray full of food.
“Here you go.” He smiled passing me the tray. On the tray there were 3 pancakes with syrup on top of them with a glass of orange juice.
“Thank you so much!” I thanked him before devouring my food. I cut the pancake with my knife and fork and stuffed it my mouth. I let out a moan after I swallowed the food.
“It’s okay.” He chuckled standing up awkwardly. I moved up so Nate had somewhere to sit.
“Sit down.” I ordered.
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Nate crossed his arms.
“Fine then stay standing.” I carried on stuffing my face with food. After 5 minutes I felt the bed sink and knew that Nate had joined me. I finished the food and gulped down the orange juice. I put the tray on the floor beside the bed so I don’t forget to take it to the kitchen later.
I sighed and lay back on the bed.
“What’s wrong?” Nate asked.
“My head kills.” I replied whining. My head really did kill. It felt like someone is banging my head with a hammer.
