Katie Bridges and her best friend Amber Winters were on their way to swim practice. With Katie's blonde hair flowing in the sunlight and Amber's blue eyes that looked like the Caribbean, the two most popular girls in school were not hard to miss.
"Katie! Amber! Hey!" Their classmates shouted as they walked past. "Just ignore them and avoid eye contact," Katie whispered softly to Amber. They giggled. "Wait up!" The captain of the reptile club, Sakura, walked up to them. "Hey guys! I was thinking... Well... I thought, maybe we could be friends! You know, like hang out and stuff!" She crossed her fingers as she waited for a reply. "No thanks." Katie flicked her hair into Sakura's face and walked away. "Ha, what was she even thinking by asking us anyways? I bet we would've been her only friends!" Katie said.
They arrived at swim practice. "There are my two favorite swimmers!" Exclaimed Mr. Riverside, their swim coach. They slipped into their swim caps and dove into the pool.
