"You'll be able to walk easily in two days!" Doctor Schmitt declared happily. Katie nodded. "But how long until I can swim?" She asked, the question had been on her mind forever and she was happy to be able to get it out.
"That depends how hard you work." Doctor Arthur answered. Katie hadn't even noticed he was in the room. "Then I better get working." Katie said positively.
Katie spent almost three hours that day getting up and stumbling until she could successfully walk around her room at least twice. Sweat dripped down Katie's brow as Mrs. Bee walked in.
"You know Katie, there is such a thing as trying too hard." Mrs. Bee said, helping Katie back in bed. Katie knew she was working too hard, but she had to walk. She had to win. "I know. But if I don't test my limits, I'll never know them." Katie answered wisely.Written by TheFlameFangirl
