Katie was trembling and could barely move. Dr. Arthur was examining her and running some tests, but Katie had a bad feeling she wasn't passing. Dr. Arthur looked at Katie, not wanting to admit he didn't know how she would ever get better.Mrs. Bee was anxiously talking on the phone to someone. Katie thought it might be her "mother." Then Dr Arthur pulled Mrs. Bee into the other room. "No visitors besides the mother." Katie heard Dr. Arthur say, then she zoned out.
In about fifteen minutes Mrs. Bridges came in and kissed Katie on the head. Katie moved her eyes towards Mrs. Bridges. Dr. Arthur walked in and apologized to Mrs. Bridges. Katie wondered why her "mother" care about her so much. "We have to run a few tests, we needed your approval. We'll take her now." Dr. Arthur empathized. Mrs. Bridges took out a tissue and dabbed her eyes. "Do what you must." She said.
Two nurses moved Katie into a wheelchair and began walking her down a long, white hall with pictures of children holding balloons and other innocent looking objects. Mrs. Bee squeezed Katie's hand. "It's alright. They're just going to run a few tests on you." She said with a smile.
