"You want to tell me why you decided so suddenly to just up and resign?" Nikki asked as soon as we settled on the little sofa in the corner of my office for a heart to heart. Not the best place for it but she had to get to a business dinner shortly after so we had not much time for a catch up. The office staff was mostly gone by now anyhow. Just the odd few workaholics remained.

"I'm getting older. I've not had a boyfriend in forever. Do you know Im still a freaking virgin."

"Still? I thought you were going to take care of it over that trip to Rio? What happened?" reminded Nikki. I'd forgotten just how long ago we last had our heart to heart.

"I changed my mind at the last minute not willing to just give it up to a one night stand. Hot or not he wasn't worth it."

"Well I did volunteer to take care of it for you. That offer is still open," Nikki said wiggling her brows at me suggestively.

I grinned back. Nikki knew I did not swing that way but she was ever hopefull. It was how we became friends in the first place. My lush form drew her attention. I was at first shocked to discover her sexual inclinations. Nikki was everything I was not, sleek, sexy and ambitious. She had short hair she kept in a sleek bob. Her cheek bones were high and her voice husky. Were I a guy, or a lesbian,  I'd totally be into her. But I was not so we became best friends instead.

Once she tried continually to take advantage of me, just as she appeared about to do again. Rising from her elegant perch at the edge of my sofa she came towards me. Reaching down she got a hold of my arms before she tugged me up and into her arms. Her lips moved to find my dodging lips. She was ever so persistant. She knew I hated to kiss her. Then her lips were on mine and I struggled to pull away.

At that moment she reminded me of Eric. They both had that same annoying trait to take what they would. Nevermind the consequences. Or who got hurt by it.

"Let her go!"

Nikki reluctantly released me and I rushed to Erics side wanting to placate him. Eric did not like Nikki. Without missing a beat Eric wrapped his hand about my wrist and hauled me along with him into his own office.

"If she were a man...," Eric started to say in his usual burst of anger over Nikki.
