I said goodbye to mum last night, and it made me pretty sad if I'm being honest.
I'll miss her.

Half the day has been, finally I'm in English where I can stare at Mr Clifford for an hour.
"Has anyone began reading Lolita?" He asked the class
"I have sir." I raised my hand.
He gives me a look of confusion, knowing it wasn't true. I'd been with him pretty much the whole time since he handed them out.
"Oh yeah...well, can you share your thoughts so far?"
"It's different. It's very different."
"To what?" He queries.
"To what society see as 'acceptable' or 'normal'."
"Very good."
I smile in response and Evie nudges me, "what was that all about? Why're you flirting with him?" She whispers with a goofy smile.
"I wasn't flirting." I chuckled.
"Now our question of the day is: 'What would you do if you were in Lolita's position?' Write down your answer in your book and I'll ask a few people for their answers."
A few minutes go by and I've written down my answer, I look over at Evie, who's looking at Calum with a concerned look.
"Babe what's wrong?" She whispers.
"Nothing." He mumbles.
"Mr Hood, I'd like to hear your response." Michael says.
Calum sighs, "if I was in Lolita's position I'd get the hell outta there."
"You don't find it romantic?"
"What? A 14 year old girl sleeping with a 30-what year old? No I don't find it romantic."
My cheeks turn red, and I don't even know why.
"May, your response please."
"I'd rather not share sir."
"Nonsense, please." He insists.
I sigh as well and look down at my book, "if I was in Lo's position I'd stay with him. I know it sounds wrong, really wrong, but if I had a man love me so much he was willing to go to prison or even be killed for me, I'd stay with him. Because I know he'd keep me safe, and Lolita found that within Humbert."
Michael nods, and Calum glares at me with a disgusted look.
"Interesting response."
I could tell Michael didn't find it 'interesting', he found it fitting.
'Love you' Michael mouths to me when the bell rang loudly, signalling lunch time.
'You too' I said back.
"Wait May could you stay back please." He says.
"Of course Sir." the last few people leave.
"My house after school, I'll meet you at my car okay? I'll park it round the back. Have a good day princess."
