Chapter 13

I looked in the mirror and fixed my dress. It was a black one sleeve that looked quite nice. I grabbed my converse and walked downstairs. "How do I look?" I asked my brother. "Awesome!" He smiled and adjusted his tie.

For a celebratory dinner the whole team had reservations for a very fancy Japanese Steakhouse. I think it was one of the kinds where they blow up the grill in front of you and cook in front of you. It was suit and tie fancy.

I was eager to see how that worked for the big sweaty boys i saw yesterday. Kira came walking down the stairs in a fancy dress. "Hey i hate to take a rain check, but Niall's taking me on a date tonight. It's apparently very important.. Saphira! You can't wear converse with a dress!" She said horrified. "Shut up Kira. I put a dress on. Do NOT push it." I snapped.

Her phone buzzed and she looked surprised. "Well, scratch that rain check. Apparently Niall's coming with us too meet Mom and Dad." She stood there shocked. "Cool!" I smiled.

Pretty soon we were all piled in the car, ready to go.

"Hey! Comeback!" I made a face as the halfback James knocked me on the shoulder. "Hello James." I giggled. We were all sat down at about 6 or 7 tables. Drake sat on my right and Blake sat on my left.

After we ordered, the chef came out. He talked to us for a little bit before asking what we were here for.

"We won the Super Bowl!" Drake yelled, earning cheers from the other teammates. He also held up the trophy and fist pumped in the process. Um. Over celebration much?

The chef congratulated and lit the stove on fire.

I saw Niall sit down at the table across the room, with my mum and dad. Can i hyperventilate now? Niall Horan is dating my sister! Psh. And i was dating Billy Unger! And my brother is dating Alli Simpson, so HAH! Kira!

I miss him a lot. I still go dirt biking with Eric and Blake a lot, but I've completely shut him out.

Wait. If i shut him out, then why am i imagining him sitting at that table with his parents, Erin, and Eric? Oh Sheet! I'm not imagining! My ex best friend is sitting 10 feet away from me.

"I-I'm going to the bathroom." I stuttered to Blake, then i walked to the bathroom.

When i came out, i was shoved against the wall. "Saphira?" Billy asked. "Billy." I spat. "Can we talk?" He asked. "I'm kinda celebrating with my team! But fine." My lip curled in disgust. "Look, I know we'll never be the same again, but i want to at least be friends again. We don't have to, but i think we'd both be better off not feeling like we are going to rip out each other's throats." He ran a hand through his hair. "Alright. Fine." My expression softened. "Oh! Good! I have to go, otherwise Eric's going to tease me about being in the bathroom so long, but I'll talk to you later. By Saphira!" He smiled and shook my hand awkwardly.

Finally i have something off my chest!

"Alright Saph. Niall's coming over with his mates at about noon, so in that time, i need You, Adam, Blake, the dogs, the monkey, and the mess out of the house." Kira told me. "Well, I have work, I can get rid of Adam, Blake I don't know, The dogs aren't leaving, and Dexter, I'll think about that one." I told her. "The monkey leaves." Kira snapped. "The monkey stays!" I retorted. "Fine. As long as he doesn't cause any trouble." She sighed. "Okay! I'm going to take them for a walk!" I smiled. I love taking them for walks! Even better, it had snowed outside! Yes, snow in LA. Don't believe me? Check the weather.

I dressed Dexter in the best Christmas sweater I had and put his child leash on him. I gave him little baby mittens for his hands and feet too, because after all, he is from the tropics. Next, I put coats on Diggs, Chance, and Blake's new puppy he got a week ago. His puppy's name is Kaya. She's a husky with a black and white coat, and blue eyes.
